Pledge lemon, work great with a little bit of elbow grease
Not much required, to bring them back to there original beauty.

I use-it all the time for dusting, and it also remove finger print pretty well.

Hey Hicks
I just picked up a new Onkyo 820 at a pretty serious discount. I'm looking to upgrade my 5.1 speakers to the Verus Grand towers and center. Will the Onkyo have any trouble pushing this setup? Eventually I'll add an external amp but I'd like to run everything off the new receiver for a while.

Oh yeah that will be plenty, as you can see from my sig I'm using an older version of the same model, the Onkyo 809, to drive the less sensitive 5Ts and they sound great.

I'd still recommend adding the external amp down the road to really let the VGTs shine, but you should be just fine with the 820 for now.

Hope that helps!

Good to hear. I had to finally retire my old 875. Thing was a beast but I had to finally get on the 4k train. Now I've got the upgrade bug.

Does Aperion have outdoor speakers? I seem to remember that they do but I don't see any in the website. I'm looking for some speakers to put on my patio.

If no, can anyone recommend a good set?

Ah the old 875, pretty legendary amp section on that one. We actually used an 875 in our sound room circa 2008-2010 or so.

We did have outdoor speakers a few years ago but we ran into trouble sourcing the parts and they were discontinued. We plan to design a new model and are hoping to launch them in early 2019. If you need them now, Boston Acoustics, Klipsch and Yamaha make pretty good outdoor speakers.

I just ordered Intimus 5T towers and 5C center. I ordered from newegg (sold by aperion). Is there any difference in processing vs buying directly ? Also do all the guarantees apply as if bought directly through aperion (1 year trade up, 10 year warranty, etc)?

Hi there,

Nope no difference, your order will still ship directly from the Aperion warehouse here in Oregon and all the same Aperion Advantage policies will apply.

Thanks for the order and enjoy!

This is nice to know
Also did not know, that aperion started to use outside distributer, a nice touch.
Any future distributer in Canada?

I hope we are able to find distribution in Canada in the near future, but getting shipping costs where they are both affordable for the customer and also allow us to keep our margins is the big barrier.

It's definitely a big market that we could do well in, but we have not found any viable solutions as of yet.

Hello Hicks

Got today an e-mail from aperion news letter, with an article by, Steve Benton, about timbre match.
https://www.aperionaudio.com/blogs/a...imbre-matching

Very much enjoyed-it, I have been adhere to this concept for years, when ever possible.
Must be a co-worker of yours, pass on my compliment for a well written article.

Honestly, as a aperion owner, that own 7 speakers of the Verus Grand series.
I am disappointed that they came out with this;
https://www.aperionaudio.com/product...r-tweeter-pair

Only my cats or dogs, would hear those type of frequencies, and if even present in a recording.
And if present, who know how those little beast would react.
These remind me of the Radio Shack Super Piezo Tweeter, way back in the 80's, just a gadget.

Aperion use to chase higher standard and quality, for me this is a step back, is this a sign for what to come in the future!?!

I can see a ribbon tweeter like this being an optional upgrade to their Verus II speakers, like some of the Ascend's or possibly the major change to a new Verus III! It would be nice, if it was part of a new line of speakers, that the tweeter would be able to be aimed to some extent, though I have no clue if something like this is possible. What I'm thinking is that for visual purposes, WAF, the speaker could sit squarely in the room but that the tweeter and possibly a mid-range could be aimed toward the MLP. In my mind this could be a fixed angle, somewhere between 15 and 30 degrees or adjustable.

I do agree, if it was a brand new design, it would be nice, ribbon tweeter do have a nice sound.
When design to be part of the speaker with proper engineering.
But not as an after market, add on.
The crossover slope could be a mess, between the mids and high.

And also positive that speakers like the Ascend, and others that offer this type of tweeter as an option.
Also have a different crossover board for them, since it is an upgrade.

Ray

Well,I guess I'll be the lab rat and be the first to own a pair of the Aperion Super Tweeters. I'll have it Friday 9/28. There are a few high end Super Tweeters that get really good reviews. The Aperion is adjustable to properly meld with your existing tweeter. I have 4 pairs of Aperion Verse Grand Bookshelves, one center,2 PSA v1800 and 2 SVS Subwoofers,Denon X7200w,Biamped mains, treated room. Mark.

Hey Guys!

I see our new Super Tweeter has caused a little bit of a stir here. While they are certainly not for everyone, they really can help open up the top-end of most speakers. Of course, the source material plays a role as well - you won't get much benefit with Mp3's. But vinyl, SACD, FLAC and other hi-res formats (as well as 4K discs which are 24/48) can benefit from something like this. Super Tweeters haven't gotten much attention here in the US, but they are quite popular in Europe. We thought it produced some interesting results and was actually beneficial, so we decided make one! I totally understand that there are many people that don't want to put something on top of their existing speaker, but for those that don't mind it can be a pretty cool addition.

Ray - I know you've been very supportive of Aperion over the years and we really appreciate that! This product is not meant to be a gimmick or some archaic resurrection of snake-oil-energy-crystals, it actually does affect the sound. Even though human hearing only extends up to 20 kHz (or less in my case), you can still sense frequencies above that range. The harmonics in the 20-30 kHz range do affect how the sound waves act within normal hearing below 20 kHz as well. Plus, I'm sure your cats would enjoy hearing the extended range on some Mahler or Bartok. Hopefully, you'll give us a pass on this one even if you're not into the Super Tweeter.

The Aperion is adjustable to properly meld with your existing tweeter. Yes Mark, you correctly point out that it has a built-in 5-point crossover (8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 kHz) that you can adjust to match your speakers. I hope you like them!
