The thing that always confuses me a bit about Swan is that they seem to make a huge array of wildly differently designed speakers with no clear delineation on their website or in their model names for which ones are supposed to be better than others and why.

I'm getting the itch to sell my 6.1's, C3, 2.1s and R3s in Rosewood and to switch over to Monitor Audio Silver 300's, C3150, and not sure on 50s, 100s, or the FXs for rears/backs. What are people moving to after Divas?

I should add that I tried the Power Sound Audio speakers, 110 and 210. I didn't like the sound of the horn tweeter and returned them.

I'm interested in your comments regarding the PSA speakers, as I've read lots of positive reviews, but have never listened to horn tweeters before. I have 4.2's paired with the C3 upfront and periodically think about making a change, but don't really know where to start, or if there is a significant improvement available without breaking the bank.

Here is my experience with PSA.

I initially bought a XV15 sub from them and then added a second one. Last year I was thinking what to do next for my setup and thought I would upgrade one of my subs. I contacted Tom as PSA and chatted and I mentioned I was happy with the subs and he brought up his speakers. I knew about them and had read all about them here which I continue to follow but only check off and on.

He had a pair of 110s and a 210C ready to ship and this is when they paid for return shipping so I had little risk on my side. The build quality matches their subs and they aren't necessarily "pretty". I have an Anthem MRX500 and use an external adcom amp for the fronts. I did turned of ARC on the Anthem and just did a plain A/B comaparison against the Diva's 6.1s. They had a more forward in your face sound and not harsh by any means. The highs had a different feel to them and I couldn't get quite the same detail as I do with the Divas. I can hear more dynamic range and separation with the highs with the Divas. I'm also in the pro audio business and to me they sounded like a powered Behringer speaker that is used for DJing. It's loud but just not as detailed as I like for the home. After about a week and listening to content, I decided to ship them back and to discuss a sub upgrade instead. I took the $ from the speakers and bought a S3600 which I'm happy with. I still have a XV15 in the rear to smooth out the bass. (I'm on the fence to swap it out to a sealed S1800 or something)

I've always liked Monitor Audio and my buddy has Silver 6s. I've liked their sound and think I may be ready for a speaker change. I've had them over 15 years.

yeah, but the problem is "return on investment". resale is pretty bad on stuff like this. though some don't care about that.

Thanks for sharing your observations, as it turns out, I also have PSA subs (XS-15 & XS-30) so I was naturally inclined to also consider the PSA speakers. It certainly helps that you have an opportunity to listen to the Monitors at your buddy's house - good luck with your audio quest!

Well here is my update, I upgraded to Revel speakers. It wasn't cheap and if I didn't have the desire to see what's out there, i'd be fine with the Diva's for many years to come.

I got a pair of F206s, a big C208 for the center and I decided to do 4 W763 in walls for the rears. This allowed better placement in the room and they blend well with the fronts.

I liked the sound of Revel and the off axis sound is great for more coverage than just the sweet spot. The center speaker is a beast and I decided not to settle for the C205 which is a smaller and about 1/2 the price.

I've had them for about a month and am enjoying them. Now I need to sell off my Divas......

Just reviving a VERY old very dead thread.

Looking for any information anyone might have on this pair of Swans I just picked up. They're old enough that they don't even use HiVi drivers, pre-merger. It's a 6.5" Audax woofer and a 1" Morel tweeter. Rosewood veneer, bi-wireable, separate high and low freq crossovers in a sealed enclosure on the bottom of the tower. There doesn't seem to be a model name, just a serial number.

Any info that anyone might have would be greatly appreciated. They sound great and look great.

Looks like one of the earliest models when it still was canada based before Hivi bought it.

For better or worse things change. There's more to a line than good product, and brand missteps can hurt.

We're also liquidating our remaining few desktop models.

I still use 6.1’s as mains. I wonder how much I would have to spend to do better?

I replaced my 6.1s with Revel f206's. They have a neutral sound and I'm enjoying them. I still have my 6.1s in another room trying to decide what to do with them...

Hi everyone--I'm a bit late to the party but just picked up some Swans! I upgraded from my old Fluance XL7F and XL7C 3.1 to a full Swans M6 5.1--the difference is incredible. Listening in stereo is a completely different experience, and the enormous center channel really keeps up with the towers.

I'm still holding on to my Denon AVR-S510BT for now, but will soon upgrade to an X series, mostly for improved room correction. Here's to hoping I'll avoid the upgrade bug for a few years!

Hello, I would like to get a set of Swan M20-5.1 MKII, but I can't find any review about them. From what I understand they are the 5.1 version of the M20W? You folks seem pretty with your Swan, do you recommend them?
