Studio 230 - fronts

Studio 235c - center

Anyone familiar with both lines and have any comments? The Studios appear to be higher end speakers with better reviews -- especially when it comes to clarity.

Also ... it's not a huge room, and I'm tempted to at least audition the smaller 220 and 225c Studio speakers. I can't find many comparisons between the 220/230 and 225c/235c...I'm guessing all will come down in favor of the larger 6.5" drivers...but opinions here would be welcome too.

A new Sony STR-DN1080 will be powering them. Mix of movies and music.

The JBL Studio 580's are on sale for a great price right now on the JBL Site!

Thank you, but

1. I am located in Europe
2. I am really just looking for a center speaker to add to the x4 Control 25 I already have.

I picked up the JBL Studio 230 and 235c speakers and got them set up this weekend. Still getting everything tuned in, but I think they're going to be a good choice. I definitely like the understated look. Will eventually add Studio 210s for the surrounds, I think...but now looking at the sub.

I know many will recommend other brands for the sub, but decent prices are available on the matching JBL 250P and 260P subwoofers. I like the idea of a sub with a smaller footprint than my current sub, the JBL ES250P. I also generally like tighter, more musical bass, rather than boomy, rattle the walls bass. So I'm tempted to try the 250P...but can anyone offer comments on either of the Studio-series subs (and how they might compare to my current ES sub)?

Aside from some product reviews on Amazon, etc., there doesn't seem to be too much at there on the Studio subs.

Awesome, hope you enjoy. I had 230s for a ahort time as PC speakers and have heard the 235C in a local store. Should be able to rock your movies or whatever you feed them very well.

Any recommendations for setting the crossover for the 230s (or the 235c)? I currently have all speakers set to small, with crossovers at 80 Hz...but the 230s are definitely capable of more than that...

80 is good, let the sub work. I have studio 590's and I sometimes cross them at 80,gives me more Mid-Bass from my subs *4*,depending on the movie though I do use 60Hz sometimes too.

How do you decide which crossover you go with?

Some movies don't have a lot of Mid-Bass,so for those movies I run a 60Hz crossover, but for action movies I run an 80Hz crossover because the 590's are great but their mid bass can't compete with 4 Subs.

Hey Gang , I've had these running with my old onkyo 470 about 5 years ago or more . I have a new Yamaha RX1050 and they just don't sound the same . Wondering if anyone ever tried these , or does a Yamaha product need more speaker to sound good ? Only thing different is I have a Polk HT 12 new sub .

I've been drooling over the 4306 monitors since I first saw them on Music Direct, and I just pulled the trigger on a pair. I have been waiting for them to have an open box pair in stock, and when I saw one on their website when I got home from work, I couldn't pull the trigger fast enough. Cannot wait to get them!!

The link specifies Walnut veneer with blue baffle and blue grill; however the pictures seem to show black grills. I’ll be curious to see which color your grills are: blue or black.

What I can afford, when I can afford it...

I noticed that as well. Also, the blue baffle looks much brighter in some photos compared to others.

LXE330s 2600s

First time posting here.

LXE330s -- Saw a pair on local CL that looked decent. Haven't listened to them yet. I have a pair of 2600s that were thrown in as part of a CL purchase a year ago and turned out to be quite nice. How would the 330s compare to the 2600s? Are the 330s worth $40?

Thanks

I got the 4306's today and so far I think they are keepers. To save a lot of typing, here's a link to my thread on them on another forum (hope it is allowed, sorry if not?):

Neither, I meant in general as their refurbished and being sold at a discount. Those weren't available a week ago.

They say the first week of May they will have new ones back in stock and ready to ship.

I have a question that you may be able to help me with. I bought 2 JBL L110 speakers in 1980. Since then, I have had them refurbished by a JBL factory service center. 1) What's the difference between the L100's and the L110's? Next, if you could have scored with the L100's, what would you have used them for? All of my speakers are 30-40 years old but in mint condition. I bought 2 Klipsch Forte II speakers at an insurance salvage sale for $50. (I don't know who priced them, but I got a deal.) I use the Klipsch speakers for my Front L & R. Wonderful! I use my L110's for my Surround L & R. I have some Polk Audio speakers (small) for my Back Surround (L & R). I use the Polk Audio Center speaker that came as a set for a 5.1 system. I installed Polk Audio in wall speakers for my Front Presence and Rear Presence speakers long before I heard of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. It is a mixed bag, but it sounds great. I have the Yamaha RX-A3050 and the Samsung M8500 4K Blu-ray player and the Optoma UHD50 and finally an pull down screen which I hope to change with a motorized unit.
Sorry for the long winded speech, but I want to know if I should move the L110's to the front and move the Klipsch to the back or anything in between? Thanks to all of you.

12" vs 10" 3-way models. There were also a couple different iterations of each one. You can find tech sheets on all of them here: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...ch-Sheet-Links

What the guy below said regarding the 10" vs the 12", but sadly I know nothing about how they sound. I was probably going to sell a pair and keep a pair for surround duties, but that didn't work out. And you can experiment and do what sounds best to you in regards to moving speakers to different positions.

Hello everyone!!!! I am so excited I hope I don't take away from the current conversation but I just got back into home theater and music listening. I score 3 pairs of jbl s38's in excellent condition for a local guy upgrading his home theater. All three pairs match, they're the
s38 II's, Omg they sound wounderful! I would like to know how to post a pic to show off the speaker wall! lol. I also just scored a pair of
jbl s26's in excellen shape. These are the s26's with the copper cones. OMG they sound to me even better then the s38's II's, I would like to A B a pair of S38's to the S38 II's. But from what I read they're the same drives and such. Maybe you jbl guys can let me know! They s26's have a little louder tweeter, I'ts a 2 way vs 3 way after all. But wow still amazing bass! I am very happy and would like to know if I can still get parts or anything, I have read the whole forum and I saw some part places but seems the stores have closed. May i wish jbl still made speakers like this! Maybe the new studio's are just as good? I don't have a local JBL store around but wish I did to go listen to them. I got all these speakers for amazing prices! Let me know how to post a pic and ill show you guys the JBL love! Happy to be a JBL fan of such good speakers! Thanks guys! @12voltb

Sounds like a great score, my man. Hope you enjoy them. I'm jealous that you scored so many good speakers in excellent condition in short order. But I guess I can just fire up my system and feel good about it, ha. As far as parts, I don't know exactly where you could get them. Maybe eBay. I sold spare woofers on there before and cross things like that from time to time. But take care of them, avoid needing parts, haha.

Are you going to being posting pictures from a phone or PC?

Hello everyone.
I got a JBL Pulse 3, 4 months ago. Two weeks ago I used it normally and turned it off normally.
After that, some hours later, I noticed that the JBL Pulse 3 turns on and off by itself, and was not charging the battery normally, the LED would flash red while charging.
I tried to use the JBL Pulse but it turned off without reason, and it came at a time that did not care anymore.
I did not take it immediately to the shop to fix it, because there is not one in my city.
I was scheduled to go to another city now in the month of June.
But last night the JBL Pulse 3 turn on of nowhere, and the noise woke me up. I was scared when I heard the box and saw a purple light in the room, I thought it was some lost soul. Anyway, now the JBL Pulse 3 works normally.
I connected via Bluetooth, I tested all styles of light through the JBL Connect app. I used the battery until exhausted, charged normally and JBL Pulse 3 is working normally.

Can anyone tell me what happened?
Will JBL Pulse 3 again have a malfunction?
Or was JBL Pulse 3 possessed by some spirit?

Thanks, Eduardo.
