I tried to use the JBL Pulse but it turned off without reason, and it came at a time that did not care anymore.
I did not take it immediately to the shop to fix it, because there is not one in my city.
I was scheduled to go to another city now in the month of June.
But last night the JBL Pulse 3 turn on of nowhere, and the noise woke me up. I was scared when I heard the box and saw a purple light in the room, I thought it was some lost soul. Anyway, now the JBL Pulse 3 works normally.
I connected via Bluetooth, I tested all styles of light through the JBL Connect app. I used the battery until exhausted, charged normally and JBL Pulse 3 is working normally.

Can anyone tell me what happened?
Will JBL Pulse 3 again have a malfunction?
Or was JBL Pulse 3 possessed by some spirit?

Thanks, Eduardo.

It could be a demon, but look at possible reasons for its demon-like behavior.

I was wondering if anyone knows a bit about the HTPS400. I have 2 that I bought used and they have both needed fixing but I've got one working great now and the 2nd one should be repairable.
The one that doesn't work seems to have a loose lead wire. From the terminal side everything looks fine so I assume it's the solder point to the voice coil that has come loose. I believe to access that I would need to remove the dust cap.
I've been trying to prepare for the worst and find a dust cap before I attempt the repair but I can't find a suitable one anywhere. No one seems to sell parts for this woofer and I'm not even sure what materials it's made of.
According to JBL's literature it is a "metal alloy driver" and owner's manual says "aluminum cone". By tapping on the dust cap I would guess it's black painted aluminum and it's about 5.25" with a lip on it. I haven't seen anything for sale that is similar.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Its a one of a kind driver. Any dust cap should do fine, but yes its aluminum.

Definitely worth fixing. I have six of them, five working. The driver was over $700 when available. I bought a spare driver from ebay but it is a rare find.

I took the speaker apart again yesterday to have a look and the bad solder point was on the connector side....yeah! So you desoldered it, cleaned the solder point which looked discolored from heat and stuff, then resoldered the lead wire. All is good now! I can't wait to watch my first movie with 2 of these subs. Thanks

Does anyone have any experience with the JBL Studio or Arena series in-ceiling speakers? Looking to possibly upgrade my Atmos speakers which are Yamaha ic600s. Both the studio and Arena have lower sensitivity than the Yamahas, but they would match my studio LCR speakers. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Hello All,

I need some advice for a couple of speakers to use for Atmos 5.2.1. I have recently upgraded my system from the AJ Pioneer setup to JBL Studio 230s up front, 235 center, and 220s in the rear. I am using the AJ Pioneer Bookshelves as near ceiling-on wall Atmos speakers.

I would like to go with another set of JBLs. I've been waiting for the 220s to go back on sale, but should I consider another JBL speaker?

Maybe the JBL C1Pro or the Arena B15?

Thank you for the help,

Daniel

I have one pair of Studio 230s for overheads, and love them, so plan on adding a second pair when I get some other stuff paid off. If you use 230s for all your peripherals, you wont be disappointed.

JBL Studio 590

These seem like awesome home theater speakers- technology, design, sensitivity, clarity , dispersion , disruption, etc; does anyone have them or do they fail to impress “audio addicts” ?

I find i have to crank the Atmos channels to +12db to hear the effects. I'm feeding them 60w/channel from an audio control amp. Not sure if the efficiency on the Yamahas is overstated or if it's my programming

Fairly new to the JBL front, but I have a couple questions. I purchased 3 590's when they were 50% off a couple weeks ago for a buddy's theater space, but now I need to get a set of bookshelves for myself. The usage is primarily movies and TV with fairly minimal music.

With the current sales, what are considered the best options? I was leaning towards the 235C with the 230 bookshelves. That the best combo?

L and Rs

No need, my present place couldn't handle all that and I dont have a projector/AT screen to allow for an identical tower LCR.

Help with mounting JBL Studio 220's vertical (normal) or horizontal as front height speakers!!

I've purchased a couple of JBL Studio 220's as height speakers, but I can't get more than a 10 degree tilt on them when my main listening position is about 40 degrees down. Now I can drill some holes in those 220's and get the tilt I want, but I don't feel great about that.

It looks like the off-axis response is better horizontally than vertically on the 220's... anyone know what's the downside of positioning them horizontally would be? My seating positions are are within 10 degrees of center horizontally (3-seat couch 12-feet away), so I'm not too concerned about the smaller off axis range when the speaker is positioned horizontally.

Thanks!

I have a pair of Studio 230s as front Heights at about 15 degrees tilt. The bracket does that without any drilling. Like you, I don't want to drill into my speaker enclosures. My MLP is about 9 feet back. I have no problem getting a good Audyssey calibration that sounds great to me. From ear level to speaker, you may not be off axis all that much. The ear level to the speaker is much different than floor to speaker. You might want to give it a try and see how it sounds.
