Hello all! I just got some LX16's for my computer audio (driven by a NAD D3020). I love 'em! They replaced a pair of DefTech SM350s (now in the bedroom), which I also love, but I had ESS PS-8 in the 70's and 80's, and just love the Hiel AMT sound.
That all said, I have some hints from the wife that an upgrade to the home theater system might not be dealt with scorn, so there is hope! Upgraditis is a horrible disease, but we all must endure.
OK, so my main concern is that the wife and I want better dialog sound, which generally means a better center. I've boosted the lower mids with the eq in the Yamaha, and I use Dialog Lift to use the heights and Dialog Adjust to boost the dialog a bit, but it's still not as good as we want. My first idea is to get a better DefTech center like the 8040HD, but then I got to thinking "folded motion" for detail has to be good, right?
So now I'm thinking Motion 50XT for the center and eventually replace the BP8Bs with Motion 20s or heck, LX16's on stands. The room isn't that big, and the max the speakers can be apart is about 6.5 feet.
Thoughts? Ideas? Your helps is appreciated.
