I'm very curious as well, as I have the Gold Monitors being pushed with an ATI6000 amp and a Marantz 8802A - I have had my monitors cranked and the monitors do so effortlessly.

Trying to decide between the two(also considering using two subs), the specs seem almost identical minus the box size, which performs better?
With Triad, the same model in a different config will always have identical specs, just a different sized enclosure to fit the application while maintaining performance.

So for example an InWall Bronze/4 LCR vs an InWall Bronze/6 LCR will be the same speaker, just one will be 4" deep to fit a standard-sized stud depth (and as a consequence will be taller/wider to create more enclosure volume) whereas the other will be 6" deep which allows it to be shorter / less wide so the hole cut-out isn't as large.

Similarly, the in-ceiling models tend to be deeper (since there's usually more space in the ceiling joists than in wall stud bays) so the IC Bronze/10 requires 10" depth but the front baffle isn't as larger, whereas a 10" deep speaker would likely never work in a wall so the IW version is 6" deep (but that requires the baffle to be taller and wider to create the additional enclosure volume).

Thanks. Is there a RackAmp 700 option? I asked my dealer for pricing regarding two subs 8ohm shared amp and they came back around $3300 including install/brackets, but for the 700 amp. Is there much performance difference vs the 300?

InWall Bronze Subs with RackAmp 300 (two 8-ohm woofer enclosures): $2260
InWall Bronze Sub with RackAmp 300 (4-ohm woofer enclosure): $1460 x 2 = $2920

Thank you Dawn, how is the performance vs the 300 RackAmp? Which would you recommend?

I believe that you get an additional 3db of output with the RackAmp 700. I recommend it!

Thanks, I think I'm going to go with two subs (8ohm) and the RackAmp 700, is it possible to add a second RackAmp later with the 8ohm woofer? or does it not make sense to do that?

Hi Nick,

I don't think you'll need to do that. You'll see..... :-)

There's not much point to that because you'll get 1/2 the power running the amp on a single 8ohm sub. The two 8ohm subs connected in parallel to the amp present a 4ohm load, which allows the amp to put out the 700 watts specified. With two RackAmp 700's running independent 8ohm wired subs, they'll basically act as 350wpc each, so you'll gain essentially nothing but a lighter wallet and less space in the rack.

That's going to depend on your Triad dealer. Do you need help finding one?

My bad. I didn't see the SE because we generally capitalize it, so I completely missed that.

The SE verison is: $1000 MSRP.

My apologies.

This intrigues me greatly. Better separation in the soundstage and airiness are things I'd rather have over volume. Smoother sound that has less chance to fatigue my ears are another possible benefit.

When we say they won't play as loud, are we talking at above reference levels? If that's the case I don't plan on listening that loud on a regular basis. I may make the Gold Monitors my LCR of choice for the time being.

Then you should be in great shape. You can get things pretty darn loud with Gold Monitors -- especially if you assist with enough subs and cross them over at 100 Hz.

Work with your local dealer. Triad can send the tweeters to your dealer who can then install them for you.

Received my OW Bronze Surrounds yesterday. Triad was lighting fast filling the order. Grilles are color-matched to SW Iron Ore. They look beautiful. Thanks @Dawn Gordon for all of your help and guidance. Much appreciated. Now to get the room built so I can enjoy them!

Great news!

About two weeks ago, I sent an email to Triad asking about measurements. I recently heard back from Steve Colburn, System Designer at Control4 who tells me that Triad has begun the process of updating their speaker specifications and measurements! New information should be available soon. This is a great first step! I look forward to seeing the measurements!

Steve sends his best regards to everyone on the forum! This is another example of Triad's excellent customer service!

Craig

PS. Dawn was instrumental in getting this initiated as well! Thanks Dawn!
