Good evening,

I have one of the infamous 606 Onkyo receivers. I'm sure the answer to this question is a no, but I want to know if there's any way to convert HDMI audio to 5.1 discrete audio channels.

This is kind of a 2 parter, but I know the only alternative would be buying a blu-ray player that has the discrete audio already on board so any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Monoprice and Atlona have little boxes that will do that. Look for HDMI audio de-embedders.
