I'm not sure I understand enough to know the differences. Anyone have any insight? They both seem to have what I want in a receiver.

BTW, I care about music first and home theater second.

810 is an Aventage model. Comes with 3 year warranty. Supposedly has better internals and build quality. Also uses a detachable power cord and a drop down faceplate that hides many of the front buttons.

Feature wise they are pretty much the same.

If they're the same price get the A810.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder why the 871 exists. I can't seem to figure out what differentiates it.
