Hello all,

I was wondering if you could help point me towards a good receiver for my upcoming home theater system (mostly for movie watching/gaming)

Things I will be hooking up to it:

2.1 setup:

Bookshelves: Pioneer BS22

Sub: BIC America F12

Projector (likely epson 8350)

Gamecube(composite video cable)

I was looking at the Onkyo NR 616 but even with the firmware updates I fear that something will fry internally within three years anyway so I've been looking at other options, also I see that it has Audyssey 2EQ and I'd really like something with at least MultEQ.

Additional features such as pandora, airplay etc don't have too much value to me since I can do the equiv with a roku or the like, I'm mostly looking for sound quality/reliability.

Should I care about 4k at all or is it likely I'll have replaced my receiver anyway by the time it is utilized?

If I decide I don't want to upscale the connection on my gamecube, can I just connect the proper cable from the receiver to the projector and have it run at the native resolution instead?

Thanks a ton

You may want to consider the lower level Denon models 1613 (MultEQ) and 1713 (MultEQ XT) as a refurb from authorized reseller Accessories4Less.
