I just bought a Sony DN-1040 and have not been able to use a video source with a different audio source. For example, I like to play my PS3/4 with the HDMI while listening to music via either bluetooth or an rca input. I used to be able to do this with my Onkyo 609. Do the newer Onkyo receivers still allow this and what about Denons? I use this feature a lot and would consider selling my current receiver to find one that does it. Thanks in advance!

The 2013 model Denons allow listening to a separate source while watching something on HDMI, but the Denon does not have Bluetooth if that matters.

Have no idea about Onkyo.

The new 2013 Denon AVRs will allow for a networking or USB audio source while watching an HDMI video source, but not another HDMI audio source. A blue tooth adapter will generally work on most AVRs.

Curious, since when did Bluetooth become considered high fidelity? Does it sound as good as streaming over wireless?

I never said it was high fidelity but mere ease of use. Networking would produce a better sound but I simply forgot about it. Does the 2012 Denon AVRs also support Networking while watching an HDMI source?
