Is there any way to hook up QC-35 headphones or any other bluetooth headphones to the AVR-X2100W so I can listen to tv shows and movies after the family goes to bed at the volume level that I want?

I know I can connect an iphone/ipod

Thanks

there are various devices that should allow this
what unused outputs do you have?

also some tv's have this ability

TV- Samsung 55" UHD (UN55JU6500FXZA)
service - directv
Receiver - Denon AVR-X2100W,
Speakers -F L/R - Infinity Primus P363, C - Infinity Primus PC351
Sub - Klipsch Sub-12HG
(slow build out)

You can purchase a 3rd party Bluetooth transmitter and connect it to the Zone 2 pre-outs and then also connect a red/white analog audio cable from the cable/sat box to the CLB/SAT analog audio input on the X2100W.

Any suggestions where to get one thats half decent and inexpensive? or am I better off just purchasing a 6 foot headphone cable?

Thanks

Why not just connect the transmitter directly to the cable/sat analog audio output (or TV) (assuming the have one)? That way the Denon does not have to be on since the OP indicated they were watching TV at night when other went to bed and did not want to disturb them. (Maybe I'm missing something but this seems simpler.)

Yes, that would likely work as well, as long as that was the only source that he wants to listen to via the Bluetooth headphones.

Doing this won't recreate the 5.1 sound or you can't really get that with headphones?

The analog sound isn't as good as the digital?

Well aren't headphones only two speakers (2 channels)? Suggest you think about that for a moment in the context of your 5.1 (channel) question.

Either configuration would be passing analog audio.

Need help with my S900 W model; all of a sudden today when I select Internet radio it defaults to Sirius/XM even after selecting Pandora or Local Stations

And it will not move off of it, same happens when I inserted a USB Flash drive. Recognized the stick & displayed all the artists & albums but after selecting an album it went to Sirius/XM yet again.

anyone ever experience this?? I did unplug AVR for 30 seconds and tried again... but same result; Should I unplug the AVR for a lot longer perhaps??

thanks......

Soft reset = 10 minutes power cord unplugged

If still no joy, then do a network reset as noted in post 5 of this thread.

As a practical matter for my music and movie watching requirements, I would be buying the 205 for the DAC. I guess this is an awkward way of asking would having a DAC in the Denon and a DAC in the Oppo be redundant, or is the Oppo DAC that much better than say the 2017 Denon flagship AVR?

In order to take advantage of the Oppo DAC, you would connect the Oppo to the AVR with the multi-analog audio cables which in turn would disable Audyssey. Although a minority of owners do this, the vast majority prefer to use HDMI, using the AVR's DAC and also being able to use Audyssey. If you plan on purchasing the X7400H, you would likely be better served with the 203.

It's pretty simple -- if you're connecting with HDMI, there is no advantage to the x05 Oppo vs. the x03 Oppo.

Thanks Batpig: I bought the 203, passing audio through the Denon AVR, and so far I'm getting along fine.

Firmware upgrade failure

While attempting a firmware upgrade my S700W abruptly cut out, apparently blowing the 100mA fuse that is a pretty common issue. I replaced the fuse and the front panel came back but now I am stuck in the "Update Retry" loop that I can't seem to fix. I have tried connecting using ethernet instead of wireless and reinitializing but to no avail. Should it detect a USB drive if I try to load the firmware that way or am I likely looking at having to buy a new receiver?

Thanks, I did see this page but forgot to capture the serial # before leaving for work. I'll give this a try tonight. Hopefully it works, was looking forward to finally watching Rogue One this weekend.

There is a lot of very helpful information that is provided in the first 6 posts of this thread to include post 5 - Network reset (which should resolve the "Update Retry" issue) and post 6 - firmware updates.

I had tried the network reset, didn't fix it and neither did trying a USB firmware update. The receiver had issues before like bluetooth never working so I picked up a Pioneer VSX-831 on sale and it seems great so far.

I'm just saying

I bought an Oppo 203 and plugged the audio ( #2 output ) into the Denon 5200 and the video into the Vizio TV ( #1 output ) and I have bought myself some time to get past the HDCP 2.2 barrier created by the entertainment mafia to lock people out of the stuff they buy. I can play a UHD DVD, hear ATMOS audio and see 2180P video. Yahoo - I guess I may be the last person on earth to find this work around.

Sort of. I ended up sending in my 2100 for warranty. They put in some new parts supposed to make it better. However, I ended up trading in my 2100 in for a 4300 through Denon. At he same time I picked up a powerline wired router through amazon. Best $60 spent. Zero drops of connection. On a second note the 4300 works perfectly with my iPhone 7. The new software and such on the 2016 models is great!

Hi guys
Question on the x2100w purchased two years ago.
What is the impedance of the headphone amp in this unit? I cannot find the info on the user manual or on the specs. This information would be useful to purchase a compatible headphone with matching impedance I suppose.

Unknown. Perhaps best to call Denon to confirm.
