This not only transfers those lower frequencies to the sub (which is generally able to handle them better as it's got it's own amp) but also frees up some extra headroom for the AVR."

This was in the Audyssey Setup section, I am generally pleased with the sound of my S700W after running Audyssey, but wondering how to change the Speaker size to small and adjust the crossovers, just to see how that sounds. I have searched and can't find a way of doing that. The only place I saw the ability to do that was in the Manual EQ section, would that not erase the Audyssey setup?

If I listened to my wife, I would leave well enough alone, but I can't resist the urge to tinker with it.

Thanks,
Mike
Make the SMALL/80Hz change in Manual Setup which then become the "active" settings used by the AVR. The settings in Audyssey Setup cannot be erased so you can more easily return to them using the RESTORE setting.

What a pain

Looks like I will have to resort to an HDMI splitter!
Did you try a soft reset? Hard reset?

Have no clue whatsoever what might be causing this.

5.1 setup, everything connected via standard cabling, sub via digital coax, AM/FM antenna, power strip. Crossovers all at 80, 4K upscaling enabled.

Nearby devices include a TV, PS3, digital cable box, Ethernet power line adapter.

Any suggestions?
Disconnect every cable/wire from the unit and start adding back one at a time to determine the cause.

Does this override all the Audyssey settings or does it just adjust the settings changed in Manual Setup and leave all the other Audyssey settings as they were?

The Audyssey Setup settings (which don't include the actual "EQ" settings) are copied to Manual Setup. Any changes you make in Manual Setup become the "active" settings and override the same settings in Audyssey Setup. You don't have any access to the Audyssey EQ settings so cannot change those in Manual Setup.

Having read up it seems it is how it's supposed to be.
Zone2 must be on and both zones must be set to same input.
Be nice to have an override to just make both HDMI's mirrored.

Sure, if that is what you are trying to accomplish as they are independent zones. You implied it was not working correctly. You may be better served returning the X3100W and getting the X2100W instead which has dual main zone HDMI outputs designed for those with TV and PJ in same room.

Does anybody know if there is a auto power on feature on X2100W via Bluetooth?
Last couple of days (after the firmware update), every morning my receiver would turn on from stand by and switch to Bluetooth (paired with my phone).
Never experienced this and don't see any settings about this either.

Any clue?

The 2100 was what I ordered but the dealer was out of stock so I upgraded. Just assumed they would be the same or at least offer this common option....doh!

Didn't really want you use an HDMI splitter in case of loss of picture quality. Anyone know of a lossless splitter?

I also performed the update to my receiver a few days ago. The update said it would take 11 minutes which was close to around 15 minutes for me on 20MB DSL including post installation stuff. It didn't wipe out my Audyssey settings so maybe Denon figured out a way to retain them across updates.

On an unrelated side note, I previously posted that I had to adjust my subwoofer gain around +5.0db after the calibration with the volume set to 10 o'clock. This was before I turned on the Dynamic EQ mode. I'm no longer using the subwoofer gain and have plenty of bass.

I'm very happy with my receiver cooler and receiver. I've run hours of Netflix/Blu-ray/DVDs at high volumes with no issues. The internet radio search for holiday music was perfect once I found one without advertisements. It was also great to adjust the volume from the Denon App while I was in my dining room since my remote would have been out of range from there.

As I've said previously, I'm still not sure why receiver manufacturers don't include PC style fans to keep the receiver cool. For now, it will be a mandatory purchase for me whenever I have to get a new receiver.

Although there have been a few exceptions, this has been the case for quite a few years now.

It's a digital signal. There is no loss of quality from copying it to two outputs. If the splitter sucks then you could get drop-outs or other full blown errors, but if it works, it works. There is no such thing as partial degradation with digital signals.

I think an HDMI splitter will output the same to all outputs as the least capable down steam connection supports, both in audio and video, although some will output appropriate signals. If all downstream sources are equal, then there is no "loss."

HEOS link

Free Denon HEOS Link with purchase of X3100W
This past fall Denon released a new competitor to Sonus wireless speakers called HEOS. A promo has been going on with the new Atmos models in that a purchase also includes a new Denon HEOS Link ($349 MSRP) which is a small Roku sized box that can be used to stream a source connected to the X3100W to one or more HEOS speakers located in your home, or can also be used to stream to the X3100W using the Denon HEOS app (eg. iHeartRadio). Denon has now extended this promo to include the X3100W as well with a purchase thru Jan 31.

What do I have to do to get mine? ron(happy new X3100 owner)

I picked a denon 3100w too. I would be interested in the free heos link also.

If you review posts 3-6 on page 1, you'll find a lot of very helpful information to include the firmware change log listed in post 6.

Unlikely as the X7200W has just been released in the last week. Also, this is the wrong thread, as the X7200W is covered in the following two threads ....

Ah, just realised what you said about being independent zones. So should the following work?

Main: TV connected through ARC, select whatever input you like and turn off when not in use and just use:
Zone 2: Projector, set 12v trigger to zone2 bluray, media etc but leave main off. So when turning on zone2 screen will drop and go up when zone2 off?

Hi,

I am having problems with Denon X2000 and X2100 EDIDs.
I have laptop with 1080p and monitor with 1200p. Connecting with HDMI like Laptop>AVR>Monitor.
Everything works fine with X2000, and edid looks like this:

(detailed resolution is fine).

If, however I connect X2100 (which has same settings as X2000), I get this edid:

(detailed resolution is low now).

So using X2100 I can only set resolution up to 1080p - 1200p is impossible to get.

I tried copy/pasting that detailed resolution from X2000 to X2100, and I managed to get 1200p on it, however, then I lost sound via HDMI completely...

So, is there anything that can be done to X2100 to make it act like older X2000, or will I have to return X2100 and keep X2000?

Thanks

What happens when you click the Add button under the Detailed Resolution box? Can you add your custom resolution?

Yes, I added 1200p 60hz, but monitor showed that it doesnt support that (as I think its 59.xx).
But I said, I coppied that 1200p, 59hz setting from working AVR, and I got 1200p, but didnt get audio with that.

Consumer AV devices like your receiver don't support computer resolutions, only the "standard" consumer video resolutions. So a resolution like 1920x1200 will not be supported.

Got my audio interference issue solved (it was my Ethernet powerline adapter) but now I have a new problem:

Whenever I use the X2100W's i/p scaler, HDMI @ 4K, the image intermittently goes black for 5-10 seconds and then comes back. Happens with both my PS3 and cable box.

Any ideas?

Whenever I use the X2100W's i/p scaler, HDMI @ 4K, the image intermittently goes black for 5-10 seconds and then comes back. Happens with both my PS3 and cable box.

Any ideas?
So it only happens at 4k resolution from AVR to display, but not when transmitting lower resolutions?

I would suspect the HDMI cable from the AVR to the display, since it's common for an HDMI problem to manifest when pushing higher bandwidth data that's not an issue with lower bandwidth signals.
