We have watched movies/tv via our computer through the E300 and have loved the sound. We also listen to Pandora over the Denon using several devices. So, I was confused when we tried to watch a dvd (for the first time) through the dvd player. We could see the picture fine, but there was no sound. The dvd player is a Samsung HT-X50 and is connected via hdmi to the correct port.

Like I said, all other input sources play fine and sound great, so not sure why the dvd player is acting like a mime.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate them.

Thanks!

Hi calahandle, most likely a setting on the HT-X50 for HDMI Audio need to be turned on.

You were right! In the menu screen of the dvd player, hdmi sound input was defaulted to 'off' instead of 'on'. That did the trick! I wouldn't have thought to look there, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction, JCHin. :)
