Is there a way to turn Audyssey on and of with the remote and not having to go through the GUI? Was hoping you could toggle through it with a button.

Also, after I ran Audyssey, I cant see where it changed the trims on my speakers. Sorry for newb questions, just getting acclimated to this unit

Hi!

I use DeRemote on my iPhone to control my Marantz as it gives a great graphical interface. You can easily turn Audessey on or off using the app. I do this quite frequently when I am calibrating my 4 subs for the room.

That disables bass management as well, which may not be desirable.

You can set up two Smart Select buttons for the same source. One with Audyssey ON and one with Audyssey OFF.

You can read the release notes. I always recommend upgrading to the latest FW, whether the enhancements and/or fixes pertain to your setup or not. I have not heard of anyone who has had an issue with this FW version (or previous versions).

Thanks for everyone's help. I noticed that when playing a Blu ray audio disk, when I go to pure direct I get a big bass boost. I was assuming direct and direct pure were without any settings added. Would this be bass a management setting? When I leave it in AUTO it brings it back down, but it does sound better in Pure direct, but don't know how to tame it. My sub output level at its setting is about 25% I have Audyssey turned off.

Thanks all

Just curious - does anyone have a link to the release notes? I googled and even downloaded the firmware for thumb drive and couldn't find them. I'm sure they are easy to find but I'm not succeeding.

I posted same question in the CIH forum, but... why is the 8802a not vertically stretching? On/off - makes no difference. It still shows 16:9...

Thank you in advance for any ideas

edit: nevermind- 4k at 60fps cannot be stretched by the marantz... the oppo it is...

hope this helps to somebody with similar issue and wondering

If HDMI-CEC is enabled on both my AV8802a, and Bravia-Sync (HDMI-CEC) on my Sony A1E OLED....

1. Will the Sony come out of standby when the AV8802a comes on?
2. Will the Sony go into standby when the AV8802a goes off?

Something I will try this weekend. Just looking for experiences with HDMI-CEC controls.

Thanks

You'll need someone who has that exact model to respond as HDMI-CEC is rather iffy otherwise.

I did enable HDMI-CEC on both my AV8802a, and Bravia-Sync (HDMI-CEC) on my Sony A1E OLED.

I now use just the Sony's remote "ON" button to take the panel and AV8802a in-and-out of standby.

Works great.

There is also an Android version of the remote control app just like the Apple. So your options are open for both iPhone, iPad, Android Phone and Android OS tablets. The GUI is much easier than going thru the screens using your remote control.

Definitive Technology:Front Height - Mythos Gem XL
Front - Mythos ST-L, Center - Mythos 10 & 8

For the life of me I can't figure out a problem...I decided to hook up a OPPO 93 as a backup in my AV rack and I get no sound, only video. Connected it to different outputs with same result. Tried the OPPO on my TV upstairs and I get sound, so it's not in the player. Everything is to Bitstream. Changed the HDMI cable, same. Went into the 8802 and checked all the settings and even reset to default the inputs. Also made sure the setting for AVP or TV was set to AVP. Frustrated.

Try doing a "soft reset" by powering off the AVP and unplugging the power cord for a few minutes, which should result in no loss of settings.

Contact OPPO support... they have a special (firmware) patch that helps their older HDMI 1.4 products play nicely with HDMI 2.0 boards. It's not available on their site, so you'll have to contact them directly. Shooting them an email will do...

Been losing connectivity lately with the Deremote app on both iPhone & iPad. Already did a soft reset (unplugged then unit for 10 minutes) which fixed it only briefly. The 2016 AVR Marantz app works fine. So does the Web UI.

I can't even connect if I enter the IP manually.

I have Simple Control for my entire HT setup and I know that app cannot be running at the same time in order to use Deremote. I made sure that app is closed out but still nothing. 8802A is connected via Ethernet and shows up in attached devices in my network in the Netgear interface.

Any ideas?

Never mind!

I forgot (DUH) I added a Simple Control Hub iPod to my system which is always running unless I close the app myself. That was preventing the Deremote app from opening.
