You’re correct...more concerned about remote codes for my X1 Voice Remote.

Is there a 10 second delay when switching inputs, i.e. TV > Blu-ray?

Not with the receiver. Your display device at the other end might... Eg if you are using a JVC projector, you have a minute+ wait handshaking.

On the powerup delay it is pretty common for amps/AVs with amps. They want to run all the electronic components up to full on power (like charging the capacitors) before they enable activity. You can hear the relays click when this occurs. Think about the rest instructions - unplug it, then you have to keep hitting the power button a few times to fully discharge all the capacitors. It will still light up the power switch the first two times.

Not at least with my Sony TV. Maybe a few seconds at most, definitely not 10.

No, the only delay between device switching is on the HDMI handshake itself.
Devices like a chromecast will take slightly longer to load images because they go to sleep, but switching to like an Xbox or a blu ray player or even most cable boxes is pretty much immediate.

Thanks... @ajax-jp - Are you running a sub with your setup? Curious because I see your fronts are the Triton 1s and I'm thinking of purchasing the T2+ and removing my SVS sub.

I am actually, I forgot it in my signature. I'm running a Velodyne DLS-4000 12" that I've had since 2009 or so.
Do I need it? No.
The subs on the T1's are currently set to 4, instead of the default 6.

The only advantage to having a separate sub in my room is that I can position it at the back of the room.

I didn’t realize the subs in the Tritons are that powerful, may move up to the T1+ then...thanks!

Thinking of purchasing the 720 and curious how well the ARC app performs for room correction vs the window based program? I will be using my iPad ARC app but Dell does have some inexpensive laptops if the app does not perform as well as the windows based program. Thoughts?

The App works, but you have absolutely zero adjustability.....you get what it gives you. For the kind of money it costs for an Anthem, I think one would be selling themselves short were they to just stick with the cal that the App provides.

Yeah, second that. I use the mobile app for my PW800 since it moves around a lot, but I'd go full-blown for an AVM or MRX....

What version of ios do you have and what device?

My iPhone 7+ on ios 11.3 has not seen any updates in a long time nor my old iPad on 9. something.

It works but I can't help thinking an update coudn'tbe a bad thing.

My friend had triton 1's. The subs in those things was the most miserable boomy bass I've ever heard. Those things are awful. The bass can be very loud but it is not very deep. It reminded me almost exactly of the $85 polk subs that you can get on sale at best buy. We ended up building an infinite baffle sub and turning those off and it sounded tons better. I hate boomy bass.

Now running a Stereo-Only input on my 1120

After using Paradigm in-wall speakers for L/R duties for over 6 years, I decided to buy a pair of moderately expensive Paradigm Prestige 85F's and create a new Stereo-only input for the 1120. I ran analog cables from the output of my Oppo 205 and used coax 2 inputs on the 1120. I then configured the new input to use coax 2 for audio, and I turned off both audio processing and ARC.

The results are really excellent. Probably the best stereo performance I've ever heard in my home. I did do an A/B comparison with ARC on/off and I preferred this setting off.

Now in addition to regular TV and movies in multiple channels, I can put on a CD or SACD and just listen to the music. My admiration of the 1120 grows...

Contact Anthem support, they *should* be able to give you manufacture dates based on serial#s. The S/Ns might have date info in them though, not sure.....

In that same configuration, you should be able to use the Oppo's HDMI output and not lose any sound quality. This was tested recently in the thread that started something like "Is there any AV receiver that directly passes audio". It was determined at the end that the Anthem did great with the 2 channel audio and coax vs hdmi out from his oppo 203 was the same. You can test really easily by just adjusting your virtual input to take audio in from the HDMI source. It makes sense also. Modern HDMI cables have a lot more bandwidth than coax.

Ran a series of tests this evening on four of my favorite reference SACDs switching between HDMI and Analog audio. In all four cases I preferred the sound of analog.

Go figure!

Owner's Thread for Anthem 60, 720 and 1120 Receivers

About to run ARC for the first time and inputing distance and if my measurement is 12 1/2’ do I round up or down?

My main listening positions are 1-3 which are on a couch that’s placed against a back wall, is it ok that position 4 & 5 is in front of the couch? Thanks

Whichever is closer on the scale to your measurements

If you cannot place the mic behind the couch it's fine.
