You guys are giving me that worm and fuzzy feeling I did the right thing The dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse on top of that. There 50 miles away, delivering it to my house, taking my used gear in trade in and gave me a 10% discount. Can't beat that I think!

Any other suggestions? With ARC disabled, would you expect the Anthem to be a clear winner over the Marantz?

Did you update ARC2 to v1.3.4351

I highly recommend A/B listening with ARC2 On/Off. This way you know what ARC2 is doing or not.

Recently, some highly trained ears were able to identify a problem which lead to the SW update.

That looks like the version information for the Anthem receiver itself. The ARC2 version number will be on the computer that you installed the software to.

I was just quoted 15% ($540) off MSRP on the MRX1120 here in Canada.

Hoping to join the Anthem family and go 7.2.4 as soon as I can scrape up some $$$.

As I expanded the measurements distance, I found the bass management mellow which was more pleasant for me. I use the file where I measured ear height in each seat (6 measurements).

I highly recommend using quick measure to dial in your sub response, then taking measurements for the room. Also, make sure you have the latest ARC2 version as it is improved sonically.

Thanks for the tips. I did a second measurement today. ARC is pretty impressive. I have Friday off waiting for a delivery so I plan on running multiple measurements with various crossovers, 5/6 measurement points. Lots to do with this new toy. By the time I'm done my dog is going to curse me.

Well rats. Blake from Anthem/Paradigm just kept saying "End of 2016" for DTS:X firmware. Being held up by the chip integrator not them and not DTS. The nice thing is that when all is said and done, we will get a very nice DTS:X implementation. Many other companies are using a 2 processor setup for audio processing, and Anthem is using a 4 processor version that means you can apply all of the bells and whistles and still maintain high quality sound without having to downsample like a lot of other groups.

On a bad note, no dedicated demo space like last year so I won't get my redemption for their mismanagement of the booth when I was there in 2015.

Problem is....i want a one box solution for 7.2.4, so the arcams are out.

Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]

Okay, but you might want to check the impedances on your speakers. Nick from Anthem has recommended against trying to drive a lot of low impedance speakers using the 6 D-class low power amplifiers in the MRX 1120.

I just did the first extended music listening I have done with U2 iNNOCENCE pLUS eXPERIENCE live from Paris. It was postponed due to the attack in November and done in December 2015. It is an amazing show on it's own but the Anthem transported me to Paris!

Question, even though I'm sure the answer is no. I'm planning on doing a 5.1.4 system with the MRX 720 and I would like to use the pre outs for LCR and surrounds.

My question is, could I assign ANY of the amplified channels to be atmos or do I need to go up to the 1120.

This is for a friend, I have the AVM 60 so I have no idea.

At the price of the Anthem MRX 1120, I would only buy from an authorized dealer which buying via ebay, you have no recourse to have your receiver repaired under warranty. If your new Anthem has a major problem and craps out, you have a nice large paper weight. You may never have a problem, but I'm not a risk taker.

I too have the Anthen MRX 1120, an it;s one of the best full channel AVR's on the market, even though their are very few brans of the market to choose from. The sound quality of the Anthem is superior to any other brand on the market. I'm running my Anthem as a 7.1.4 Atmos system, which sounds incredible.

What I like about the Anthem MRX 1120, it's power house AV receiver that is simple to use and calibrate, without all the bells and whistles that you really don't need or use most of the time.

Anthem uses the KISS theory, which is the best approach.

All that really counts, is the sound the AV receiver produces, which Anthem has figured out.

Thanks,
Randy

FYI in regards to ARC mobile,

ARC Mobile allows customers to optimize their ARC enabled speakers by using either the internal microphone of the iOS device (for basic room correction) or an optional calibrated microphone (for advanced room correction). Optional calibrated microphones, which connect via headphone jack, will be included with compatible Paradigm, Anthem and MartinLogan products.

@bigdogaxis or anyone that has done lots of measurements I'm trying to do a few things and not sure how to get ARC to only upload specific configs.

I have done quite a few measurements using various seating positions, crossovers and targets. My most recent is pretty good and I'm very happy with it though I wanted to do a config on 3 and 4 with different primary seating positions. Though when I run ARC it always wants to upload to 1 and 2 as well. I know I can choose which config to use for ARC 2, 3, and 4. Saying use Config 1 or 2 as the base for 3, and 1, 2 and 3, for 4 which is great. Is there a way to just run arc for Config 3 and or 4, and then upload just those respective configs without it redoing 1 and 2 as well?
