Interesting to note that Pioneer has not announced their top line Elite model lineup this year... Usually the new models are announced in August and released October/November... I wonder what is the hold-up....

If it's not a BIG screen, it's not a theater...

Ask Onkyo.. I'm sure they changed a few things and they will be late. I'm curious why they were closing out the SC95,97 & 99 with nothing announced..

True. The newest line is SC LX but that's not the top line.

Why do you think it's not their flagshipmodels? AFAIK the LX901 and 801 are.

Has someone compared the specs of the SC-LX801 next to the SC-99/97?

I am getting the impression the SC-99 has more bells and whistles than the 801.
Am I correct?

ATM it's difficult to choose and buy a (11.2) receiver. Especially with Onkyo and Pioneer. With the involvement of Onkyo Pioneers are spec-ed down. And an Onkyo is basically a Pioneer with ****ty room calibration software.
And the prices in Onkyo point of view are Crazy.

The microphone that this supplied with the SC-99 is different from the one on the SC-95 (I've owned both). The SC-99 uses its mic for the Precision Distance and Level calibrations that are unique to it.

You could be right, but I just wanted to try it to see. Honestly, You won't be able to tell the difference.

Onkyo isn't putting Accu Eq on the Pioneers. I'll guarantee you MCACC will be in next year's Onkyo. You heard it from me 1st.

So? You got inside info? Why is it that the MCACC pro is very limited on the 801/901 compared to the SC-99.
What about Pioneer reflex optimizer and accureflex? An Onkyo development.
Looks like it's the other way.
Pioneer with AccuEQ ... I think Onkyo is to arrogant ATM.

Honestly. We got the last of the real Pioneer's. I hate that Onkyo and Denon own the other 2 companies. We have less options now

Yes that's what I am feeling to. I think I am leaving the thoughts of buying the SC-LX901 or Onkyo RZ3100.

I am going for the SC-99 (sc-LX89 is the euro version.)
And a seperate amp for the fronts a Rotel RB 1582. To drive a 7.2.4 setup.

Than I have original MCACC Pro.
And spec-wise I have the same bells and whistles as a LX901. Only Google and Hi-res 11.2mhz I have to miss.

I have a chromecast so no problem.

If I understood correct the sc-99 van stream Hi-res? And Deezer is also there?

Deezer is only available on 2016 mofels as it is a part of onkyos updated UI that.

I just bought an SC-95, updated it to the latest firmware and have so far been unsuccessful at getting into the Video Parameter menu/settings. I'm trying to turn the 4K upscaling on but can't seem to do so.

After following the instructions in the manual (incl. turning off HDZONE), I can only get to the V.CONV (On/Off) option but no SCAL or SUPER RES or anything like that.

I'm pretty stumped as was wondering if anyone here might know what to do? I'm probably missing something obvious since it should be this hard haha.

Thanks!

Are you sending video from the tv to the avr? It wont work that way. It must be hdmi 1-7 or the bd in port.

No, I'm sending the video from my computer (it's my media center) into the BD hdmi port and then running out to the tv via the main hdmi out.

I just tried the BD port and was able to get it to work. I wish I could help. I am sure someone will come along and help you out. Good luck. Maybe try a different HDMI port.

Just thought of something, The app for the avr makes it real easy to turn it on, Give it a try. IMHO the best app for an AVR, Maybe Yamaha comes close.

Did you try the button on the remote to top right of the giant round one in the center. That is for Vid Parameters, It is there.

Pulled the trigger on the SC-99 Silver. (sc-LX89) and Rotel end amp
The price of the SC-LX89 is great ATM.

Played with the app in demomode. Looks great nice GUI and very functional I think.

Thanks for trying, I appreciate it. After reading your comment something sparked in me and I tried just unplugging the HDMI from the avr to the tv and was then able to get the menu to come up. It only shows up when I have the cable unplugged for some reason haha.

Nice, It's almost finished... When you remove the store sticker of the door.

I live in the Netherlands. Yes has a blue display.
Never realized that the "Elite" SC99 were only in black.

Why do they even call them Elite?
