Low Audio On STR DH750

I have hooked this unit up to all my speakers and with the volume at "Max", the TV volume is medium at best. My old Sony would rock the house at 50% volume. Did I hook something up wrong?

Maybe, how is it hooked up specifically (the tv)? Did you adjust speaker levels/delays or run the auto setup in the avr ?

ps They may have had different volume scales, too.

I used HDMI to the TV from the receiver. The instructions are non-existent so maybe there is a limiter or something that needs adjusting.

There's this thing called the manual....https://docs.sony.com/release/STR-DH...0_guide_en.pdf

You might look for an input level adjustment. Does your model have DCAC? I'd use that to set it up.

If you're simply comparing volume "numbers" you may not even have an issue, just different volume scales (and Sony doesn't do what most others do in that regard).

I wasn't concerned with the numbers, only the volume that I heard.
There must have been an issue because the volume was getting weaker and weaker without any adjustments.

I ended up taking it back for a replacement and the new one is working very good. I learned my lesson about buying an "open box" item.......but I'll probably do it again.
