denon x4200w sound fields

New to denon and have been reading the manual but i was wondering what denon owners use for movies. After I did the audyssey tuning and turned on a movie I seen it was set to mutli channel in. Under movies option it has mutli channel or mutli➕ Dolby. Under pure it does direct or auto. Not sure witch one best for movies. I have always had onkyo in the past and it was easy u set up audyssey and switch to thx sound field and done.

Second question I have klipsch ref-2 tower 6 1/2 dual drivers when I'm setting up audyssy is there any way to leave them large for movies and small for music? I like to use subs when I listen to music.

AVR specific questions are best posted in their respective Owner's thread, in this case the 2015 Denon AVR Owner's thread linked below ...

I am curious why you would ever watch movies without subs if you have subs (other than, maybe, everyone else in the house was asleep and you were being polite).

I use subs for movies but If u leave the front speakers to large when u turn on stereo mode for music it shuts down the subs and other speakers off because it runs the bass frez from the front large drivers..
