Hi guys, I'm a newbie and have a couple of questions, please be gentle.
I have the Samsung Q9FN TV and recently bought the Samsung HW-N950 soundbar. I wanted to test the Dolby Atmos and found this thread and downloaded the demo disc. I thought I could just store the clips onto a USB flash drive and put it directly into the One Connect box but that didn't work. The video plays fine but there is a 'voice over' (rather than the actual music / sound of the clip) which asks to switch the audio to bitstream so that the Dolby Atmos sound can be played correctly. I guess I could do that if I had a blu-ray player but not in this case, right? Does this mean that I cannot play / test the Dolby Atmos this way? How is this set-up any different to playing a Dolby Atmos film from, say, Amazon Prime? (from the app in the TV)
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I didn't want to make a new thread. If any of you have the Dolby Atmos/Vision UHD disc from March 2018, is all the Audio in a DD+ Container? I got the disc recently and that is the case for me, much to my surprise and disappointment. The audio all seems to be in DD+ containers with no way to change it to a Dolby True HD source. I have another demo disc that lets you switch between DD+ and TrueHD. Looking this disc up online on sites like demo-world would lead you to think the disc has both TrueHD and DD+ versions of all the audio...but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Now, in the previous comment I posted march 2018 version (atmos + vision). Does anybody has rip of Blu-ray of August 2018? You can even PM me)) E.g. you could give a private torrent, so it will not distribute... Thanks))
Ia there a way to play a ripped Bluray off a USB drive and maintain the file structure with menus, etc?
Why, yes of course. Use VLC 188.8.131.52 (open disk, Blu-ray, open folder), you can also install libaacs, to play aacs protected blu-rays)) from https://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/ (you should install both: libaacs.dll in VLC directory and keys database in C:\ProgramData\aacs\)
I was interested in having all of the dts x dolby atmos discs, but in video format already. I have downloaded a few of these full bd disks and when i use makemkv to extract i get a bunch of mkvs and some are duplicates or even merged mkv of the files. i have downloaded this torrent, reelwood disc 2019 demo clips mixed from rarbg i am looking for the same torrent but with all the dts x atmos files. Any one know if there is something like that around. Even if it is a torrent that has all dts hd ma dolby true hd dts x dolby atmos files in a torrent i will download it and delete the above.
