Running Audyssey with denon x3200w with 2.subwoofers.

I know this model cannot have the subwoofers "speak" to each other. I remember reading somewhere you're better off running audyssey using a y splitter instead of the 2 sub outs. Anyone know why this may be? Also do you have advice for setting up the subs properly without having audyssey x32? Thanks!

The dual sub feature you are referring to is not XT32 but rather Sub EQ HT which independently sets the level and delay of each sub before XT32 EQ's them together. With the X3200W you're best served placing identical subs equidistant from the main listening position.

Are there any systems with Audyssey XT32 which do not have the Sub EQ? I suspect many people lump them together, perhaps suggested from the vendors labeling the groups of features as "Audyssey Platinum" vs "Gold", "Silver", etc.

Anyway, @cutthatcity , I believe your X3200 has an internal Y splitter, so using an external one isn't likely to help.

But go right ahead if you want to. Using an external Y splitter is not going to hurt the signal quality, at least so long as it works properly. The amp should have a fairly low output impedance and be fine to drive many high impedance inputs for dual or even quad subs, which could be done using two external Y splitters.

Primary (2.1): Thiel CS 1.2 / Velodyne F1000 sub / Adcom GFA-555 Mk2 / Rotel 970BX / Sony CDP-CA9 ES
Secondary (5.1): Paradigm Mini-Monitor v.3 / CC270 v.3 center / ADP-170 v.2 surrounds /
SVS SB1000 sub / Marantz SR-6010 / AppleTV + Win7 PC / BenQ BL3200PT
