I know I wanted this to be my next receiver and at this price I don't mind having it powering just two ceiling speakers for now

I have been without a receiver for what seems like a long time. My Onkyo finally blew up. I was thinking about going with the Yamaha pre pro and an Emotiva amp, but when I saw the 3060 on amazon.com thanks to this thread, I jumped given the price and given that the 3060 will have the same processing as the CX-A5100 plus YPAO down to 16hz. I figured I would not be giving up that much to separates. Congrats on your house and good luck with your theater build.

Actually I have an Onkyo tx-nr515 that suddenly started sounding so awful, I don't know what happened, but ever since I don't have music in my business, I have 2 Polk Audio in ceiling speakers that sounded very good, but out of the blue it started sounding so bad.

When I had a good home theater my last receiver was an Onkyo TX-NR818 that was very good, off course hope this is a big improvement, I'm going all DIY with 1099, Volts 10LX, SI DS4-18,going to take my time as I have 6-8 months to buy everything .

O BTW I also have an Emotiva XPA-5 Gen 2 that I got for cheap, just $695 shipped and it's new, I don't hear a difference between this receiver and the Emotiva amp I will sell it

I must admit, I've been eyeing Yamaha's Aventage 3050 for about 8 months but held off as my theater is in an early build stage. When I saw this thread about the new 2016's I was simply curious about new features only to discover the reference to Amazon's pricing and availability. Crazy world we live in...but on a lark I jumped on my smartphone and ordered the 3060 last night just to see if I could. About 30 minutes ago I got the same confirmation! This is looking for real and thanks to my AVS brothers I think I've scored!

I have a feeling Amazon is gonna honor those prices. How much was the 1060 going for?

I know you guys that missed out will hate me but I ordered both the A1060 and A3060 and got the same emails today regarding the 19th delivery. My dilemma is which to keep?? I really was looking for the best receiver I could old or new under 1000, but upon seeing those preorder prices wanted to lock in on the 3060 just in case.

So who here has gone from the A10x0 to the A30X0? I see that the YPAO is a different upgrade in the 3060 and that is expandable to 11 channels which is nice. I assume the 3060 is worth the almost 600 over the 1060?

Also if anyone wants the one I don't take who is close to NH, PM me.

Shoot, me too. This would've been my chance to upgrade my RX-V673 to the Aventage line and get better YPAO and muciscast. These new receivers look like they got the features for relative future-proofing.

The A1060 was offered at $843.55. Not sure if that was a mistake or a pre-order price. It appears that Amazon is going to honor it. My guess is that they are still making a small profit.

Thats a good question I ordered the 1060 but after looking at the specs its very similar to the 781 which will go for $799. I ordered it because I assumed it was a pretty great price but now I'm fairly convinced that ~$850 will be the normal price for this receiver perhaps the entire line got shifted downward in price. I guess we will see soon. I just hope they improved their UI information overlay.

Not only did Amazon remove the pages but they are completely gone even for the purchased items. When I go to my orders and click on the A3060 the page comes up as a "sorry this page doesn't exist". If that doesnt scream a mess up on Amazon's end I don't know what does. Also there is no way a company would lower MSRP that much.

This is pretty exciting thinking that a week from today we will have receivers that we don't even know for sure what they look like or what the specs are lol. Its sketchy that they are being sent next week yet Yamaha has nothing on them at all on their site??

Worst case scenario they came be returned free since they certainly "don't match website description"! Actually worst case is they don't ship, which I still see as a possibility as those update emails could have just been another glitch trickling down.

To me that's Yamaha getting shot in the foot by Amazon because I'm not going to pay more than those prices for a 2016 Yamaha Aventage receiver knowing this early in the model run they can be sold that cheaply. I'm sure they could give a rats you know what but I can't be the only consumer thinking that right now.

Yeah it was a price mistake for sure but Amazon will most probably ship it.

Pricing was gonna be the same as 2015 so it will be ~$1200. Amazon wouldnt have taken them all down if that was gonna be normal pricing.

It was a pricing error and not many people even noticed so the typical shopper has no clue what happened.

Yeah, your right of course. More of a wish on my part than a belief. I almost ordered one but i got "paralysis by analysis." I can pull the trigger quick on a Kinja deal for a meat thermometer or a stainless steel Contigo mug but not an AV receiver i guess. Crap.

I own A2000, tested 3030 for a month when it was released and have just returned 1050 to BestBuy after a "test-drive". All in all, 1050 (and I assume 1060) is not on the level of 20x0 or 30x0.

I ordered 3060 from Amazon yesterday.

Amazon has had many price screw ups in the past. Unless it's minor they typically will not honor the price. I suspect all those orders will be canceled very soon.

Any cconfirmatiin emails are almost certainly automatic alerts setup in their system.

My dealer (in Canada) was able to knock $500 off msrp, and still make money when I bought my RX-A3050
I'm sure Amazon can afford to give a few purchasers a deal without going broke.

Seriously, how many people pay full msrp on receivers?
I've always bought mine from local B&M stores and always paid substantially less.
If you're paying full price, you're doing it wrong lol.

Yeah the constraint is in the tv stand as I don't want to get anything bigger for now.
The height clearance is 7.5in max (there is another 1" top, but it's available only after the front fascia) and the depth clearance is 18.0in max. The A1060 barely makes it with a little room for airflow and the speaker cables in the back.

I'm betting on them shipping without any hesitation. They would have cancelled the orders by now instead of showing an actual shipping date.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I was just reading a thread this afternoon on a garage forum I frequent, and several members had just received order cancellation notices, due to incorrect pricing, for some air compressors they had recently purchased from Amazon.

If my previous experience with amazon is of any lesson, they will not honor the mistake pricing. You can count on it

How bad was the mistake? I guess it also depends on how many people ordered. On deals like this you have to keep quiet or you ruin it for everyone

We will find out in 2 days when GMan78's order is scheduled to ship. Even a 3050 @ that price would be great!
