I'm still wondering why the 2015 models aren't getting this Audyssey App support. Is it a hardware difference?

Klipsch Reference Premiere: 4 x RP-280's, 1 x RP 450C and dual R-115W's
Marantz 7011 AVR
LG OLED B6

New models are released every year. New features on the newer models drive sales to upgrade.

On a 6011 is the Dialog Level Adjust in the set up menu the same as Channel Level Adjust when you press option on the remote?
If it is the same which setting does the receiver uses?

Dialog Level Adjust is nothing more than the center speaker volume adjustment; however, don't use it, rather instead if you want to change the center speaker volume:

Globally for all sources --> Speakers - Manual Setup - Levels - Test Tones - Center

One source only --> Option - Channel Level Adjust - Center

I take it the above for Subwoofer Level Adjust?

Yes. Same applies for Subwoofer Level Adjust - don't use it.

Globally for all sources --> Speakers - Manual Setup - Levels - Test Tones - Subwoofer

One source only --> Option - Channel Level Adjust - Subwoofer

Subwoofer Level Adjust (SLA) - This setting should be linked to the Manual Setup - Levels - Test Tones (Subwoofer); however, is not linked, such that if your sub is set to -6db in Manual Setup and you set the SLA setting to ON (without modifying the factory default setting of 0db), the sub volume level will be increased to 0db, so in other words, in this instance doing so would increase the volume by +6db (-6db --> 0db). Much better to use either the Manual Setup - Test Tones - Subwoofer for a global change to all sources or the Option - Channel Level Adjust - Subwoofer for a change to that specific source only. Note the Dialog Level Adjust acts the same way when adjusting the volume of the center speaker, so again, use the Test Tone - Center setting instead when you want to raise/lower the center speaker volume level for all sources.

This setting is only featured on the Denon X6300H and "flagship" D+M models, the X7200WA and AV8802A.

Strange that they have 2 flagship models of Denon with this feature, and only the 8802 for Marantz and not the flagship receiver 7011
Hope they can do an update and get also the 7011 owners this nice feature........

The "flagship" Denon/Marantz AVR is the X7200WA. Both it and the X6300H are higher level models (mfr'd in Japan as is the AV8802A) than the SR7011 which is simply the highest Marantz model, but not a flagship model. The SR7011 is the sister model to the X4300H.

well, flagship or not, no higher receiver models then the 7011, so i would think they put this feature also in the 7011, not the lower Marantz (receiver) models.....

Has anybody had any 4K pass through issues w/ their 7011? Sorry if this has been posted here (there's alot to skim through), but I have had this issue for quite some time.

When connecting the Oppo 203 or PS4 Pro, I only get audio and video if I connect to the front HDMI port....when either is connected to ANY HDMI port on the rear of the AVR, I lose picture and get the "no signal detected" on my Sony.

Marantz, Oppo, nor Sony has an answer - I have spent hours researching this and talking on the phone w/ all of them. I know its not a defective unit, because I swapped to the Denon 6300, and had the same issue. So I switched back to a different 7011, and have the same issue. All the gear is in a cabinet, so it's not a huge deal, but I always have the front panel open with a wire connected to it.

Any ideas? And yes, all firmware is up to date on all devices. I had thought about maybe shutting off some kind of upscaling on the Marantz, but not sure if that is possible? And I think I tried that when it first happened back in November.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm the new owner of the 6011. Today I replaced my old Sony and began the speaker calibrations. All worked out great, but I can't seem to figure out how to get sound when playing amazon movies? So can someone here help me resolve the no sound playing amazon movies? I can cut the AVR off and I'll get the sound thru the TV only.

switch to the input called "tv audio" that should fix it. usually the avr will auto switch to that input, but you might have to manually do it.

hope that works!

Audyssey MultEQ Editor App

The much awaited app has finally been released ....

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eyMultEq&hl=en

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/audy...210584625?mt=8

This app will allow you to:
•View the speaker detection results, to check correct installation
•View before and after results of the Audyssey calibration, making it easy to identify room problems.
•Edit the Audyssey target curve for each channel pair to suit your tastes
•Adjust the overall EQ frequency for each channel pair
•Switch between 2 high frequency rolloff target curves
•Enable/Disable midrange compensation to make the sound brighter or smoother
•Save and load calibration results

***** Note the most recent firmware update also allows the AVR to use this new app so ensure your AVR has the most up to date firmware. *****

First ensure you are using the newer "Premium" certified 4k/18gbps HDMI cables. Set "Deep Color Output" on the source device to OFF and if necessary set the Video Conversion setting on the AVR to OFF as well.

What is the source of the Amazon movies? If the TV, then you can either pass the audio back to the AVR via an optical cable from the TV --> AVR or using the HDMI(ARC) connection (although this doesn't always work as designed). For HDMI(ARC) set the HDMI-CEC on the TV and the AVR to ON and set the TV audio to "external speakers/home theater."

ive just recalibrated my speakers again with audyssey (Marantz 6011) but this time ive read the great audyssey set up thread and with some great advice on this forums (jdsmoothie and others).

I bought a boom mic stand and with great care completed the 8 stage set up, I then went to manual set up and changed my front L/R speakers to small as the Marantz had them set as large, then when I went to change the individual xovers to 80Hz
I noticed that audyssey had set my surrounds speakers xovers to completely different Hz yet they are all identical surrounds

Audyssey set the back L/R surrounds at 90Hz and set the side surrounds L/R at 150Hz.... I wonder if my side speakers are shot but they do sound ok... or could I have wired them wrong if I had done this doesn't Audyssey notice that the speakers are out of phase ..
the manufactures spec range for these speakers are 100Hz to 20Hz

The crossover frequency is affected by the location of the speaker in the room. Speakers which are close to walls or corners usually experience reinforced bass frequencies due to the reflections and thus have a lower crossover frequency.

so then as the back surrounds and the side surrounds are set at 90Hz and 150Hz respectively
I should leave their xovers alone and just set my fronts L/R and Centre xovers to 80Hz
and the subs to LPF to 120Hz......

Sounds reasonable! (pun intended)

(Although I suspect you're confusing the LPF for LFE with a subwoofer low pass filter. It's actually only for the LFE (.1) channel when you're playing a multichannel soundtrack.)

Thanks!
I've been having HDMI handshaking issues between the 6011 and the Sony 850D only when the 850D's HDMI setting is set to enhanced. When it is, I get loss of picture and at times sounds when the HDMI sing also is set to enhanced and going from a 4K source like DIRECTV to a standard high def (1080i) channel.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.

Audyssey app seems to have a hard time to find the SR7011 on the network. It has managed to do so once and on several retrials it cannot find it. The receiver is on and plays internet radio which I assume means there is no connection problem to the main router.
It is a pity it doesn't recognize the existing EQ calibration and prompts to redo it again to start over.
