Honestly, there is a reason, other than just bandwidth, why even UHD Blu-ray uses 4:2:0. The visible difference is mightly small, especially at 4K, unless you have a 100" screen or sit with your face against it. So 10/12-bit 4:2:0 is pretty much all most of us need and that should be possible in Mode 2.
Hmm , i guess it's not impossible Xbox may fix it with firmware. The HDMI pass through on the new Xbox only accepts 1080p as well though Microsoft said they will continue to monitor the adaption of 4k. This seems odd they didn't just include a HDMI 2.0 pass through . Just to keep the cost down a bit i guess.
In any case once you use the Xbox with HDR for gaming it makes all other games look rather flat and lifeless by comparison.
In any case i can work around it , i was just trying to limit too many button presses.
I haven't mucked around with themes as yet on the Yamaha as you can set up 12 different themes for various activities.
It has 4 quick presets on the remote as well.
I am very happy with the amp overall and none of this would be an issue if Yamaha allowed me to mix and match mode 2 and mode 1 (Please yamaha fix it with a firmware update
) , i guess you just can't have everything the way you want it
