Is a 2015 Denon AVR-X2200W IN-Command for $499 worth it

Looking to replace my old receiver to one with Atmos capability. The 2015 model of X2200W is on sale at Crutchfield for $499. I didn't see a whole lot of "big" differences b/w the 2016 and 2015 models, so the on sale 2015 model looks like a winner to me.

Denon AVR-X2200W IN-Command

The receiver is in my living room and is used as a jack of all trades receiver for movies, blu-ray, Pandora One, and cable.

I don't have Atmos speakers yet, will probably do a DIY build for some up-firing speakers later this summer.

What ya'll think,?

No opinions, does this mean the X2200 is no good?

Crutchfield never discounts anything. That's the current list price. Denon is unloading that 2015 AVR model because its 2016 model-year replacement (AVR X2300W) is now becoming available, although still in somewhat short supply in some areas.

If you call some other authorized Denon dealer on the phone, they'll be able to quote a lower price if they can still get you one. They just aren't allowed to publish in public anything other than list price.

P.S. the 2200 is a fine receiver, but be sure to check its feature list to make sure it has what you want. Some people prefer the next higher model, the AVR-X3200W, because it has pre-amp outputs, allowing you to add external amps if you want. It's also being discounted. My understanding is that the 3300 won't be available for a few more weeks, though.
