Denon AVR X2200W troubleshooting with PS3

I have been searching around to see if anyone has run into the same issue but have not found anything. I have a Denon X2200W (about two months old) that I am connecting a PS3 to via the HDMI "Game" input. When the input is selected the TV displays the Denon logo and the input information (video connection is working). Once I turn the PS3 on the TV reverts to a "no signal present" message. I can continue to hear the audio, but no video. If I hook the PS3 direct to the TV it works fine. If I hook it up to any HDMI port on the Denon, no video, just audio. Other devices work fine (DVD player, cable box). Different HDMI cables do not make a difference. Turned everything off and back on, no difference. I have looked at the Denon support site and the manual for the receiver, but those were no help. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi Brian Murnane, try turning off Deep Color in the PS3 under Display Settings menu.

Thanks, I will give that a try as soon as I get home.

I had a similar problem a few months ago with my X2200 AVR. Did the latest firmware update on my PS3 and when it restarted I just got a black screen with audio. I had to hold the PS3's power button on boot up to reset it to default settings. Once I did that I got picture again and then just set my picture settings back to what they were before the firmware update.

Thanks JChin and 51dueller for the quick feedback. Changing the setting on the Deep Color did the trick. I may try the PS3 reset as well at some point, just to see if that works too.

A big "Thank you" from me as well. Short thread with right solution. I looked for hours in long threads where people try to guess things to do.

Consider reviewing the first 8 posts in the 2015 Denon AVR Owner's thread linked below as the solution has been listed in post 3 of that thread under "Troubleshooting" for the last 1.5 years.
