Wireless Mic recommendations? Shure vs anything else?

Howdy,

I'm looking to get a wireless microphone for a church setup. Didn't see any forums regarding mics but they seems like they'd be Audio so here goes...

I have some experience with the Shure combo kits that have 1 wireless handheld mic and 1 wireless lapel mic. Those kits are about $550 so I'm wondering if there are comparable alternatives that might be less expensive but accomplish the same objective.

We don't need anything with fancy feature or anything. We just need one handheld mic and one clip on type mic that are both wireless.

Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks!

Sennheiser is another great brand you might consider, but you really can’t cut corners on a good wireless mic system. It has nothing to do with “fancy.” Cheap ones are prone to drop-outs, static, obnoxious bursts of RF noise when the transmitter is turned off, and generating noise just by handling the mic that is audible in the sound system. If you’re looking to save money, find a used one.

"A nice mid-fi system," according to an audiophile acquaintance.

We have done multiple church system installs, and usually use the Audio-Technica wireless microphones. Excellent range and clarity, plus bullet-proof reliability..

Just my $0.02...

Thanks. Could you provide me any model numbers (or links) from which ones you've used in the past so I can go take a look? Found a bunch on Amazon but not sure which are ones to look at.
