Ok, After a lot of checking the CSR figured out the issue. it seems there is/was a mistake on the Integra web page that has now been corrected. The mistake was the reference to the DRC-R1.1, ver the DRC-R1. The recent update is only for the DRC-R1, not the DRC-R1.1. The current firmware for the DRC-R1.1 is 1050-9000-1030-0010 and it includes Amazon music. I didn't see amazon music in my NET menu because it's not called Amazon music, it's called "Music" with only the amazon arrow icon underneath... My bad...

I tried both ways with still no luck. It would go through the update process, say "Complete", I'd cycle the power, it then goes through this initialization process(?), then it's back to normal... The problem is, when I go to the setup menu and check the firmware, it still says I'm on a very old release and non of the new items appear (from release notes). I tried calling customer service back but they are now closed. I tried hitting cable/sat and power to do a full reset but it still didn't address my update issue. Any ideas? Apparently I'm stuck on a ver ver old version...
That sucks, sorry to hear it.

My first thought was you can't skip to the most recent firmware and have to go to an interim version first? But I dug around on this page and it seems to show the version you have as released in December 2018, so that can't be right.

Now that I look at the US Integra firmware page, I don't actually see the DRC-R1 listed at all? Did they remove it? Maybe it was a bad upload or a buggy release?

I've had my Integra DRC-R1 for just 1 year & 3 months. It had been working fine until the start of January this year.
The soft clipping is failing (my speakers would pop), the delays in switching has become incredibly longer, and some of the HDMI inputs have started failing. At one point, the upscaling was failing & RGB channels seemed to all split! (attached sample) It was weird.

I've spoken to tech friends, and they think the board is on the way out, which is apparently fairly common with Integra/Onkyo amps.
I will be taking it to my closest repair service shop next week and hopefully it is an easy & quick fix. Good thing for their 5 year warranty!

I have loved it though. Disappointing about no wireless, and the HDMI ARC function does drop out from time to time (nothing a 10 minute HDMI reset doesn't fix). I feel the DHC series' sound was warmer and somehow felt like it had a stronger and more defined bass through my L&R.

My friend worked in an AV store not long ago, and he told me Denon and Marantz came back faulty a lot more. So yes, the Integra boards fail sometimes... but they still seem to be the better choice overall (and 5 year warranty should catch all those board fails).

My 80.1 lost the right channel and I decided to just upgrade, over trying got get it fixed. I got the new DRC R1.1 and so far I am really liking it. I have it connected through ethernet and the firmware update was flawless. I have been very happy with my Integra products, so I went with them again. Have any of you, with the DRC R1, gotten your problems straightened out?

I've had my DRC R1.1 since December 2018 and have nothing but good things to say about it also. It's been used just about every day since. It's a real solid performer. I also had an early unit (80.3) that had the common problem of loosing the audio, I'm real happy I stayed with Integra. I think it still has the best price/performance available.

My 2¢

I noticed Integra added Airplay2 support and a couple of HDMI 4k modes in the newest firmware update for the DRX-2.3 today. I wonder if they will add these to the older models as well?

I have a question about the DRC-R1. Does the R1 pass/accept HDR & DV through all its inputs? Or just 1-5? Also does it display OSD with UHD?

Thanks

I'm considering the Integra DRC-R1.1 to replace a Crestron Adagio. Never been happy with my Crestron but more to do with the installer/programmer I hired, regardless due for an update so I'm going to make my theatre a stand alone instead of integrated into whole home setup. Anyone have experience running the Integra with Anthem MCA amps?

Integra released new firmware on 4/18 for most of their recent receivers. As I hoped for, it includes Airplay 2 support! It also adds the HDMI mode switching for 4K 60p 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4K 60p 4:2:0 10 bit.

Here's the release notes from mine:

Quote:
DRX-7, DRX-R1, DRC-R1
(Current Version 2150-0000-5070-0010)
The 4/18/2019 update will address the following and includes previous updates:
1. Support AirPlay2.
2. https://integraworldwide.com/manual/...rplay2_int.pdf
3. Add setting to switch ''Standard'' and ''Enhanced'' according to HDMI 4K signal format.
4. https://integraworldwide.com/manual/...dmi_4k_int.pdf
5. Minor bug fixes and improvements stability.

I just replaced and a Marantz 7703 with the Integra DRC-R1 and couldn't be more impressed. First it does have OSD that works unlike the 7703 and their in house Room Correction did a much better job on my living room than Audyssey. I have a dedicated Theater with treatments and have been trying to get my living room to sound better. While I knew I wouldn't get that level of audio, I have tried Marantz's (7702mkii & 7703), Anthem's (MRX720 & AVM60), Yamaha's (5100 & 3080) and Emotiva XMC-1. Since I have Yamaha in the Theater I wanted to do something else in the living room, the Emotiva sounded the best but had issues. This is the first time I have been happy with the sound in my living room.

Their Room correction doesn't get enough credit if you ask me.

Anyone know what the difference is between the R1 and 1.1. And I know it’s probably not but are the XLR’s fully balanced?

One difference is that the HDbase-T. On the R1 it does not do HDR,DV. I believe it only does 4k SDR. I think it is the only difference. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I also do not think it is fully balance.

I can't help with the Anthem amps but I run my R1.1 with Classé amps and it's a great pairing. I can't see where the Anthem amps would sound much different. I upgraded from an 80.1 to the R1.1 and I have been very impressed with the build quality, the sound improvement and all the new features.
