Question Need repair for Marantz SR-18

I have a Marantz SR-18 that will not power on. Something sparked and popped and now no lights on power on. I open case and could not find any burnt components or foreign objects that I suspected may have fallen through the top vent holes. Possibly just dust causing a short? In any event, the damage is done - somewhere.
Recommendation for repair?

Thanks,
Jeff

Repair

When I had issues with my Denon, I took it to Redwood City. D&M Holdings has their warranty repair place there. I also took my Sony projectors there as they are the only folks I know that can drill down to the part level rather than just the board level.

Well, I'll post into this two year old thread instead of creating a new one...

I have an SR-18 that (only) has static in one channel (left I think) - but not always just sometimes. I paid like $70 each way to send it to an authorized repair shop in LA/OC as I live in UT where there is no authorized repair shop, but they couldn't replicate the problem. Some online searches suggested cleaning a specific contact, replacing a transistor here or a capacitor there... but as this static in only one channel doesn't happen all times, they didn't fix this issue.

Does anyone know what the specific problem might be? Should I just take it to a top Salt Lake City non-authorized repair shop (if they regularly fix high end equipment, how different is a 25 year old Marantz SR-18?

Thanks!
