On 3.6.6 MP-50 too.
I always listen to 48khz Dolby DD 5.1 with either DSU or Neural:X post processing.
My speaker setup is 7.1.4.

It used to show me 7.1.4 Dolby Surround or 7.1.4 Neural:X
Now it's always Dolby Surround
Do you think Lyngdorf implemented the Dolby restrictions on upmixers with this new FW?

3.6.6 fixed the ATV4k center issues for me as well. Nice quick turnaround, I wonder how much of the software they do in-house.

I guess you have to fix issues quickly when you also sell systems for $200k. The Emotiva support plan doesn't work in that price bracket

Really like the Voicing file editing and the rest of the small changes. Nice to get the MP-60 software updates for this old model as well.

Reverting to 3.0.9 is the probably the best option for most... unless you don't mind reinitializing RoomPerfect.

Ultimately, I do believe it is worth updating for the new functionality. Here are the new homescreen tone and level adjustment controls.

It's part of the home screen (I cropped the jpg…. sorry). Just scroll down, it's below the volume/inputs/post-processing/voicing/etc. but above the media player. As of 3.6.1 of course.

Do you have 3.6.6?

Regardless, here's release info posted elsewhere:

You know the drill:

3.6.6 Release Notes:
- Fixed missing Center channel on PCM multi-channel soundtracks.
- Fixed possible crash at system boot-up.
- RoomPerfect Focus position names are now correctly stored.
- Web page and front Info display would indicate 9.1.4 when decoding 9.1.6.

Send me a PM with your email and I will shoot it to you.

If I have sent you then before then just send me an email and I will reply with it.

Yes, the “+ Trims” is normal now. It’s the new way that Lyngdorf is trying to display the relative differences.

They tried to explain it in their Release Notes, even though it doesn’t specifically say “+” or “-“.
They were just trying to reassure people that the change they see is OK.

MP50/60: Note regarding RoomPerfect gains in installer menu – “Channel gain” page:
/The RoomPerfect levels you see on the gains page, have been normalized in recent Software. That means the channel that plays the loudest is displayed as 0dB.
//So the absolute number is not important, what you can see from them, is the difference between the channels. And if LFE is 0dB, that means it's the one we've measured to be the highest. If he looks at the differences between the channels, they should be the same as with old SW.

Did you try a factory-default while on 3.6.x?

I forgot to mention rebuilding your config from scratch after the default. Uploading the old config could be contributing.

Have you contacted [email protected] ?

Tried the web-interface directly after the factory reset with no old config loaded. I have a dialog with Lyngdorf about this.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone.
I also tried 3.6.6 and I'm loosing center channel (or is very attenuated) when upmixing Dolby 5.1 to Auro-3D with an Auro 10.1 speaker setup (height fronts and surrounds + top).
No problems with 3.0.9.
I suppose these versions are betas?

That is "good" to hear I guess, that means it's possible to get the problems fixed sooner. Have you reported this to Lyngdorf?

No, I have not. I have lost faith in them.

Here is my take on the MP-50, after 1 year of usage:
I regret having bought the unit for nearly thirteen thousand canadian dollars, thinking that I would have a unit that would vastly outperform my Anthem MRX1120 that is nearly a third of the price.
The MP-50 performs very well but I thought that it would be nearly flawless with the software.
It is not. I had all kinds of behavior over the year, trying different speaker/post-processor configurations. Contacted support (through my dealer and directly) with unsatisfactory responses.

And then these latest software update, that bring problems so serious that we have to revert back to prior version to keep what we had.
I know many will say they have no problems. I say good for them. For that price, I wanted better software and support.
To quote someone else regarding the MP-50, it is indeed a "black box full of assurance".

Regards

I'm sorry you haven't been satisfied. I don't remember dealing with any MP-50 issies in 2019. What issues have you had with 3.0.9 (11/08/2018)? It seems to have been rock solid.

While I don't find the Lyngdorf SSPs to be worth their list prices, street prices here in the US have been relatively reasonable.
