You can try doing it like I have for my DPA-1.

All sources go into DPA-1. I feed the digital out from the DPA-1 into an Gungnir MB and then to the speakers.

The DPA-1 is also doing crossover duties so its line out (not main out) go right into the subs.

Edit: I plan to replace my 228s with 212RTs and add pair of Cap 2400s when we get into a larger house.
So here's the deal… with RoomPerfect you must put aside what you know about room setup and subwoofers. This means placing "boundary-woofers" (bass-management subs) or full-range mains (Neosis 215RTs) in the front stage. For subs and smaller mains, preferrable stereo subs in the front corners or very close to mains. A mono sub's best placement would be mid-front-wall.

I actually believe RoomPerfect would allow you to keep the 228s atop dual Captivator 2400s (or how about dual Orbit Shifter LFUs? ). Resulting in performance rivaling 5/7 Neosis 215RTs. Or run two 215RTs as mains and put a single or dual 2400ULFs in the rear [for example]. The possibilities are endless as the MP-50 is much more flexible than the Anthem.

Have you considered 215RTs and keeping the 228 as a center and maybe surrounds?

Thank for the response Marc. The 215RTs were my first exposure to JTR and won me over big time. I absolutely would considered them, but it will depend on if the room will accommodate them whenever we move into a larger house. I also could keep the 228s for surrounds if the room is large enough.

Marc, you’ve got my gears turning on this. Let’s project that I keep the 228s and run the L&R atop Cap 2400s as you suggest. Would the MP-50 allow 2.2 when listening in stereo (using each sub in a stereo setup) and then 7.2.4 when listening to home theater (using both subs in a LFE setup)? Another possibility would be to keep the existing Cap 1400 for near field MBM in addition to the 2400s and run three subs LFE for home theater. Should I assume that the MP-50 can accommodate the 7.3.4 setup also? Thanks for your thoughts.

clicked on latest software and got 3.0.4 zip download. Can you provide link to 3.0.6 so we may know what is included and perhaps why there was no 3.0.5? Thanks.

You can load the software from their server, i.e via the processor.

I understand from Lyngdorf that this update is primarily fixing an issue with the Auromatic upmixer.

Not sure what happened to the "big" Room Perfect software we were hoping for.

I updated to 3.0.6, and I think it might have added new functionality to the internal media player. I use Roon on a Nucleus+ box, and after the update there was a new (but uncertified) MP-590 device showing as Roon Ready. It's possible it's been there before and I didn't notice, but I don't think so. The airplay version also shows up, so this isn't that. It plays much higher resolution files than Airplay can, but it also seems a bit buggy in my quick experience.

I believe the TDAI 3400 already had this more full-featured media player, so maybe they're finally implementing it on the MP50.

After just updating the firmware, no change to ULF. Haven't tried rerunning RP and then measuring (feeling too lazy). Hopeful someone gives that a try.

It appears this is not the RP update we were waiting for. Although, I suppose it could be in "bug fixes" and you have to rerun RP.

I hope there is news soon as I am waiting to join the MP-50 crowd with the updated board.

I have read many of the signature lines detailing the equipment you folks are sporting in this thread and I would bet there are some wonderful sounding rooms among MP-50 owners.

Can one of you U.S. owners tell me what the warranty is, and if it's transferable?

I can't find anything on the Lyngdorf site, the MP-50 manual, or from googling.

2 years. No idea about transferability. If you buy it with a Visa credit/debit card, you get a 3rd year from Visa.

That's bizarre, and interesting that people are OK with an unwritten warranty.

Not sure how one would get the 3rd year of coverage from Visa without documentation.

Not really bizarre, Lyngdorf has developed and maintained a reputation in the US as well as other countries for exceptional service. So it's really a non-issue for most people.

My personal experience with their support has been terrific.

If I ever needed that, I would just ask for a copy of the warranty in writing. I have sneaky suspicion I'll get a lot more then 3 years out of it.

A related question to the warranty. If a unit needs repair, do they have a repair shop in the US that performs repairs or does it have to be sent back to denmark?

Lyngdorf doesn't have a US service center so it goes back to Denmark UPS Express. The shipping cost is for that service is very high, so it's definitely subsidized by them. IIRC, it's $60-$75 to send it back and the return shipping is free.

I emailed Lyngdorf and they told me that the HDMI 2.0b chips are not available yet, and they don't have a timeframe for the availability. Im not so sure about that response as Marantz/Denon seem to have implemented18 gbps HDMI for almost a year already.

Sorry for any delay. The MP-50 does allow for both 2.2 and 7.2.4 like you describe.

However, there are some caveats regarding LFE and bass management. Aux subs must be configured in L/R pairs. Front and/or Rear sub pairs. When no LFE is configured, the auxiliary subs receive bass management and LFE. When an LFE sub is configured, the aux subs will not receive LFE.

I am using an external DSP (Symetrix Jupiter 8) to allow me to mix/route both bass-management (stereo) and LFE bass. At the moment I have front L/R subs and a mono rear, all receiving bass-management and LFE. I will be adding a rear L/R pair in the next few days.

Without an external DSP (miniDSP is a great option) or mini-mixer I have found it best to choose either aux subs or LFE and not both. This could change in future MP-50 firmware revisions.

Just back from vacation. You are right, now the MP50 supports Roon! Sounds REALLY great too :-)
Now there is no point anymore for me to have that Microrendu streamer and that fancy power supply to support streaming via Roon and all the benefits that bring.
The MP50 does the job at least as well! Not at all buggy on my network. Just great sound.
EDIT: Typical... Spoke too soon. Perhaps a bit buggy, will probably be fixed but not selling the Microrendu quite yet ;-)

Hmm....I emailed Lyngdorf a couple weeks ago to ask if the MP50 was room compatible and they told me it is not and they do not plan on adding that functionality.

A question for those of you who has buttkicker or other ass shaking units connected to the MP50, how do you set this up?
I'd like to keep this separate from the subwoofer output, no roomcorrection applied and bass management working for music and LFE. Worst case just LFE. Is this possible? Can you use the aux channels for this?
