Not using Airplay, what are the best devices to stream music from iPad to Denon?

For whatever reason my Denon 2112CI sometimes doesn't want to cooperate when trying to do Airplay with my iPad Air for playing music. The iPad will connect, but then disconnect. Sometimes it's a matter of closing Spotify or changing the source again on my Denon to "reset" itself, and then it could connect. I never seem to have this issue when streaming music from my iPad to the Apple TV upstairs. It's always pretty flawless.

I of course could get another Apple TV for the basement and run airplay through my Denon receiver, but I'm wondering of any other "best" options for external devices that would plug into my Denon and allow me to stream music, preferably over wifi as I've read that has better sound quality over Bluetooth. thanks for the help!

You can add an AirPort Express for 99 bucks just run the 3.5mm into an RCA input to your AVR and you're golden.

Is there any benefit to this over the Apple TV? The older Apple TV is much cheaper so just curious about that.

You could always get a Chromecast audio for $35 and stream it that way. Real cheap and they do have an app for iOS.

It'd always be on, and would extend your wifi network. Other than that, not really. Old Apple TV was discontinued so you'd have to find one of those.

Airport Express but use optical out not RCA so you benefit from the receiver DAC.

Does the Chromecast Audio support Airplay? If not, then he's probably better off with an Airplay compatible device.
