Marantz SR5011 vs Denon X3300w

I'm at a crossroads where the two receivers are being sold at the same price. Obviously, the Marantz has more power and preamp outputs with Audyssey MutlEQ XT. The Denon has less power, fewer premamp outputs, but Audyssey MutlEQ XT32.

I mostly watch movies and stream TV, music happens but is pretty rare. I currently have an aging Onkyo RT-980 that seems to be on its last leg and doesn't support my 4k Vizio P series. I only have this display because my young daughters cracked my plasma.

I definitely would like to headroom with the preamp outputs to add full towers in the future which I hope could be covered by the Denon's L/R/Center preamps.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Marantz sr5011 and Denon x3300 both have 7.2 channel preouts so that would be same. The Denon does not have fewer preamp outputs. Since the Denon has Audyssey XT32 I would recommend it over the Marantz.

I circled the preamp outputs on both receivers in the attached photos.

Not sure where you're reading specs, but the SR5011 (110W) is a lower level model than the X3300W is it is the sister model to the X2300W, and as such has lower power than the X3300W (105W, although moot point) and the X3300W also has the same number of pre-amp outputs and as you noted, the much better version of Audyssey MultEQ XT32 Based on your listed requirements, the X3300W is your better option.

Also note that the features of each of these models is discussed in the first few posts of the respective Owner's thread linked in my sig.

I must have gotten the preamp outputs confused with the x2300 I checked the back of both. The x3300 didn't become an option for me until it went on sale yesterday.

I was debating between the x1300 and x2300 until the sale hit. The x3300 seems like a far better deal at $799 where the regular price puts it out of my price range.
