Hello,

Dynamic Volume can greatly increase the level of quiet content. It does this so that loud content is not as jarring.

When Dynamic Volume is turned off all the levels are as the content is made. With Dynamic Volume loudness is made to keep content from drastically changing.

It is normal.

Hello! Android user here, too! My phone is a Huawei P30 pro on Android 10, same behaviour, plus touching the "progress" (up on the right ) will end in multiple progress entries, messing up the calibration. Moreover, doing a cal with a slow wifi device that works for all the other aspects (Windows machine with MEMU android emulator), if I try to only send the cal to the Avr with that phone, transfer stalls. Resolved using Windows as said and an old phone with lower Android version ( maybe 7, didn't check it) to speed transfer to the AVR.
Hope this helps. How are you progressing?

Not sure where I should post this question. I posted on the Omnimic thread but no responses yet. I have an AV8805 and have setup using the MultEQ Audyssey app. I was trying to measure the bass response in the grenade scene on World War Z. At the 1:05:20 mark. I have a MartinLogan Balanced Force 212. Is this reading correct. Or is it even the correct way to measure using ominic. I got a peak of 15 Hz. Is it distortion that is resulting in this peak. BalancedForce is rated at 18 Hz +/- 3 db. Sorry if what I did is not the right way to measure. Welcome any feedback.

Hi, my last visit here is 3 year ago
Never bought the app and now run a Denon X4500H.

Have 2 questions.

First I do the Audyssey run and it will sent the data to the app.
On this run, do I need to make adjustments in the app prior for the run, or is the first run "automatic" like the standard Audyssey run ?

In the app I can make a change like using the MRC or not.
When I make a change and like it, do I need to sent the data again to the receiver ?

I have a SVS app for my SB16, here I just make the change and its done.

Thx

You do everything thing from the app. You do the Audyssey run from the app, and then make the changes in the app, and then upload to the x4500h. You can't use the Audyssey run from the x4500h.
Check out the first post, there should be a link to the FAQ there.

Yes you can...but I suggest you create a copy of your audyssey run...you do this within the app. Then you can make adjustments to the copy and send it to the avr. You can switch back and forth without having to edit the original run.

Your SVS settings have some similarities to the app...you can have several different schemes and easily switch back and forth to see what sounds better, etc. Or have a different setting for TV, Stereo, Movie use, etc. Again it is up to you. The SVS app works a bit faster but there is less for it to do.

If you like what the SVS App has done most (and, in this regard, not owning those sw, I don't know if it works together with the other speakers and integrates the sw in there ) than you run the MultEq app without any restriction, make a copy of the cal as has been said, then load the copy and go to the MultEq frequency filter tab (cannot tell the exact English for that, sorry), choose Sw, slide the vertical limit from 250Hz to 20Hz, from right to left and save (never forget to always hit DONE at each step). So at all effects Audissey will not touch your Sw.
Hope this helps

I don’t believe so, I think the data is stored on your individual device used to run the calibration.

Yes you can upload the calibrations via e-mail or google drive, then download them on the new phone

Ahh that’s right, Was trying to do something on my phone the other day and forgot about being able to upload/email from another device.

I read his question as downloading the current Audyssey settings from the AVR to the app, which I don’t think is possible?

Well if you reset the AVR, the calibration file .audy will fill in all the Speaker setup and Audyssey calibration, but won't save things like HDMI settings and or AVR settings

IOS App Not Working With 2 Subs

Hi,

I just added a second sub and the (IOS) app (v1.4.8) doesn't seem to want to play nice with 2 subs.

My AVR is a Denon X3400H that has XT32 with the dual sub feature and everything is set properly. Yes, the closest sub is on Sub 1.

When the app goes through the sub check near the beginning of the process, the audio for the second sub starts late, just near the end of that part of the process so it may not see enough there, causing the following issues. I then do get the separate adjustment screens for the 2 subs to get their level into green area.

During the first measurement it seems to find them both but then the 2 subs are blinking together and from that point on, the chirps are heard only on Sub 2. It really seems quite confused.

Is there anything I can do?

I think it's more of a listening preference, as opposed to a graph. But if you measure and see that there's also a "dip" in your speaker's response at that same region, then maybe you will benefit to keep the MRC enabled (because "correcting" it may alter the natural response of the speaker). However, I don't think I would necessarily use the pre-cal graph from the App for that, and would rather use REW.

Thanks! I kind of figured it's a preference thing, but the bipole Klipsch surrounds I have show a dip in that range roughly the same size. I've tried it both ways and honestly can't tell a difference which is why I was wondering if there was a right/wrong answer vs preference.

It will only measure them separately the first time. After that they are pinged together.

Thanks, but when it does that, only one of them plays for the rest of the measurements. It's very strange and makes no sense. I went through to the finish and the distances were set to the same super high value (25.7 Ft.) and they sounded like crap.

I have used this same version of the app for months with 1 sub and everything is fine.

Is this a known bug? If not, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Has someone else successfully used the app with 2 subs on XT32 with the dual sub feature?

Yea, I've tried both and could never tell a difference anyway. I think since I watch/listen to mostly movies, it's harder to pick up a difference of a couple dB's at a specific frequency range when there's so much sonic information.

Is this a known bug? If not, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Has someone else successfully used the app with 2 subs on XT32 with the dual sub feature?
Looks like your already aware of the "closest sub" bug, other than that it works fine for my duals. Does sound like something is going wrong with the distance measurement unless they are 25.7 feet away? Did you get the sub levels set correctly so it falls in the softwares range of measurement?
Whats happening is when the subs are pinged individually they set the distance and levels at the MLP correctly. Then the two subs are mono'd and eq'd for a flat response at the MLP.

I have used this same version of the app for months with 1 sub and everything is fine.

I use the 2 sub outs (Marantz), one for each sub, and it works great for me. I am not familiar with the "closest sub" bug with the app since it appears to work as normal.

For troubleshooting purposes, did you try swapping the connections so what used to be Sub 1 is now Sub 2 (and vice versa)?

I'm not sure if the bug actually exists any more, it was found by members here 2 or 3 years back and there have been many updates since then.
In any case you want to have the sub that is closest to the listeners chair plugged into Sub #1 , otherwise back then the measured distances would be computed wrong..

is there still a bug with dual subs?
watching the app at the start of a calibration there is no indication that the app pings one sub then the other
but it definitely does on the internal calibration

I don't know for sure, it's too much work to reverse the connections, run the setup again and see if it's still there. And then do it all over again to fix it again if it is. LOL

The closest sub was certainly a real bug. I had it. The closest sub had to be on sub1. Im fairly certain it was corrected in an update but could not say for certain. Doesnt hurt to just have closest sub connected to sub1 anyway. Another way to check is the distances in app or avr based cal should be the same.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious but the sub distances are not actual distances because the the time delay is diffent then the other speakers With 2 subs that time delay can be magnified. No? .
