I can’t bring myself to buying a t758 since I already have a beefier t775. Also I have a denon x4300 that I got just a year ago and use a nad T763 as a power amp.

Upgrading the t775 to 4K and atmos costs just as much as buying a t758 new. Yikes.

I'm getting more and more tempted to get the 758v3.More so after reading the AVRirvana review.

I've had a Denon 3300 for a little over a year. While I've been able to get it to sound very good with movies, streaming and OTA content,I've never been able to get it to sound good with music sources cd's,streaming.

The sound seems dull, lifeless almost muted.I've read about reviewers reporting the sound as almost like having a blanket covering the speakers.

Has anyone had a similar experience with Audessey?

I don't have the "v3" version yet but coming from a Denon, yes. The T758 is far better, and frankly a lot easier to actually operate.

I find it has more detail, and better channel separation seems to be represented by a better defined soundstage image.

I found Dirac Live to shine more with movies as it works to corrects your room and speakers as a whole. The presentation becomes more seamless and uniform. Hard to describe, but you will know it when you hear it.

Thanks but I don’t have Dirac as I have the original t758

I’m hoping that will be an improvement by itself even without room correction vs my pioneer elite avr.

Or if I have to use the original t758 RC if Audyssey.

I don't use it nearly as much for multi-channel but do occasionally use it's "enhanced stereo" mode for when I'm moving around the house more. I really like that because it truly brings out the best in my R100 surrounds. Don't know why, but they seem to put out more bass than when in one of the surround modes and Audyssey is employed.

Thanks. Do you have Audyssey on when watching Dolby true Hd and dts hdma?

Not much DTS content here. I do use it with the Audyssey engaged for BluRay 4k movies and whatever mode where the soundtrack comes out best. That varies, but ideally Dolby PLII Movie.

Ok thanks. I normally only have blu rays in true Hd or dts hdma. So hopefully Audyssey improves on it or if I have the cash to upgrade the modules Dirac live will improve on it.

I’m hoping both those surround formats will sound better than my elite Pioneer avr even with no room correction.

Do the incremental upgrade thing. Enjoy what you have first. Upgrade to the VM130 next. Then add the BluOS kit. Lastly do the AM230. Over time, it's easier on the wallet. Yes, it's overall more money than laying out for a T758v3 but at least you get to hear (or see) every improvement.

Ok thanks sounds like good advice

I just hope by the time I save for the module cards that they are not discontinued!

Also will our avrs support Dolby vision in the future?

I don't know about that.

My Denon X4000 has a far, far better remote. I programmed it to control my TV, and put my TV remote away. It also continues playing if you open up the OSD menu - the NAD stops any audio or video if you open the menu. The NAD is missing a lot of features that my Denon has, such as a night mode or dynamic compression, dynamic EQ, pass-through of an input of your choice when the AVR is off, ability to operate the menu from the front of the unit (the NAD makes me turn on my 64" plasma - why??), two sub outputs, channel level adjustments via the menu after calibration, and I could go on.

But it has Dirac and Atmos, which are the only reasons I own it.

Considering they've only just got their footing, I doubt it
There's AC-4 coming to replace AC-3 but that's about it

I understand that the NAD's firmware update that enables Dirac Live 2.0 is around the corner, you can ask here:

Yes HDMI 2.1 will be the likely next upgrade but that's not coming for a little while
