I need to step in and ask that you take the topic of "Emotiva Lounge" to PM. Discussions (obviously) about the products and yes, their service is (of course) fine...but posts on another forum needs to be done off line or via PM.

So this is just more rumor NOT really official then, essentially more of the same . I thought you had something more official , then again so did my dealer a couple months back, both of us believed it too . I can afford to wait another month, will just loose the Denon X8500H with free HEOS 5 deal now if I wait, no biggie I suppose .

You seem to miss the point that official Emo pronouncements are worthless.

According to Emotiva they have NEVER made any announcements or commitments . They have in fact verbally given plenty of the same announcements obviously, I was hoping for something "official" , in writing from the company , this is not it . As I thought , more of the same , I was just trying to get confirmation before I moved on to other alternatives .

They may not make commitments but do make announcements.

I might have enjoyed the XBT-1 joke, except customers are long tiring of waiting for the v3 HDMI board, Atmos, etc.

Here we go again. Talk of future products and features (that might never come) just to keep customers from buying elsewhere. Sad.

So, they're basically saying that along with 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos rendering, it will have the latest DTS: X version (11.1 with Neural: X to fill in the gaps or true 9.1.6 discrete decoding - your guess is as good as mine)? How does one add on their expansion module that they talked about that would add even more immersive rendering channels?

I guess I'll have to wait for some pro reviews and owners' discussion before even considering this unit.

Listen up, studios! Dolby Atmos Lite™ print-outs must stop!!

I sure hope it's true. I finally had decided to give up and buy the Anthem AVM60. And one day before I went through with it I started hearing grumblings of the RMC1 again. And so I waited a couple more days and then this news. Time to wait some more

They’ve alluded to a pending announcement from Dolby, speculation is that the add on modules would be supported by an enhancement to the Atmos codec or the upmixer. I imagine there’s talk in the Atmos thread.

The channel expansion modules sound like two flavors of a 4 channel add on, one optimized for subs, the other general purpose, with a combination of them you’re supposed to be able to get up to 24 channels (16+4+4). Other modules for phono and analog I/O were also hinted at.

^^^ I agree, they’ve put a stake in the ground for 11/15. That’s Emotiva quoting Home Theater Review rephrasing the press release from Emotiva.

It's a computer. There will be bugs. That's what computers do. Or at least their programmers.
So, make a more reasonable request like "wake me up when it's shipping".
It's not like simpler processors don't get regular firmware updates.

I’ll grant you it may be a fine point, but I’d say that they’ve now made several official press releases stating a specific date ...November 15 (also posted on their FB page). In the past it’s often been statements like ‘before the end of the year’, or ‘this summer’, or (as in the last Emotiva podcast) ‘for the Holidays’. I don’t begrudge the cynical, but I’d hope for everyone’s sake that they get to this stake on time.

There is, but not very much.

I wouldn't mind if they left it off and had fewer potential bugs to kill in the code.

It's more of a need for Auromatic upmixing 2-channel music. Fully adjustable and much better then DSU and Neural:X for music.

Ahhhh. Ok. 100% not familiar with that.

Have to imagine that's low on most suppliers must haves. But emotiva definitely runs with the 2 channel crowd so I can see how keeping the 2 channel crowd happy would be wise for them.

I do, it's the only (new) format worth having. And the upmixer works better with Atmos material than Atmos itself. I have 6 or 7 BD with Auro-3d soundtracks.

Yes, you were rude.

Yes, you were rude.
This may end up being wrong, but I read on (I believe) the Emotiva forums that Dolby is putting strict rules on up-mixing on Atmos, requiring that no up-mixer licensed from a 3rd party can be used on Atmos sound tracks. (So Emotiva could make their own but they can't allow use of Auro or DTS:X mixers on Atmos sound tracks as they are licensed from a 3rd party).
