For the rest of your gear depending on the number of components you have get another rack. Now that you have nice stuff leave it out in the open and show off your electronic bling. Leaving your amps and processor out will also give your gear room to breathe and stay cool. Steve Blinn makes really nice stands.

That's an awesome suggestion. But I can't sell the stand. Problem was I never planned on getting separates lol.

On the 302 the light can be turned off. On the mc8207 don't think the lights can be turned off .

I got something. Have any of you noticed that you have had to turn up the volume from the setting you used to use on your 8802A? I used to put the 8802A around 75 and that would be comfortably loud. Now that same setting seems quieter, so I seem to put it at 78 or so. I might go a little louder in the future. Anybody else notice this? I also noticed it on the 7704 that I briefly had.

There's really no issues with this beast. The thing just works and sounds great. I suppose we can swap BBQ recipes. I do loves me some good short ribs.

Could simply be variation in the Audyssey mics -- did you use the same one or did you swap out for the new mic that came with the AV8805?

The 8805 will pass DV. No UHD player at the moment can do the low latency DV required by Sony tv's. It's rumored Oppo is working on an update. When this will happen no one knows for sure. Maybe gsr can shoot me a PM with some info.

Very much looking forward to it! It’s replacing a Denon AVP-A1HDCI w/XT32 3D upgrade.

In each case I used the mic that came in that unit's box. I noticed the AV7704 & AV8805 were a few dB quieter than the 8802A. Since the 7704 & 8805 share a new volume control I'm chalking it up to that. No complaints on the sound quality. I am quite happy with the 8805.

Thanks for that. When Oppo fixes this I may consider getting the 203. I have a 103 now.

I have purchased from SteveH before and had a great experience buying form him, I have referred a couple friends to him as well. i would have bought my 8805 from him but I am buying this on the DL, if the wife found out she would give me a hard time about my rear speakers i am upgrading. LOL. Eventually I am going to buy another JL F112v2 from Steve probably October November time frame. I am swapping out my 8802a which is only 1.5 years old if that. I want the Audyssey app and the ability to do 5.1.6 atmos.

Can anybody confirm if the Chroma 4:4:4 2020BT HDR issues has been resolved with 8805? Previous Denon and Marantz models have been plagued with this.

I'll explain why. The entire D&M container load entering into the country has been in customs for more than a couple of weeks. This isn't typical but it happens. So if something wasn't in stock, D&M is waiting for them to be released. It could be an 8500H or a _________. Therefore, if a dealer didn't have an 8805 in stock, no 8805's have shipped out of Marantz inventory since February 21st.

My guess is they will be released in a day or two; tops. Then add x amount of days for people to post. I have a lot of customers that are patiently waiting. So there will be some pending posters.

I know its weird to say but the thread has been quiet as the 8805 is just that fantastic and we cant pull ourselves away from our systems.

Plus the general lack of issues with the unit slow down posting as well.

I am very happy with my 8805 with my previous processor being the Datasat LS10. I do have one issue where the marantz app will not let me adjust subwoofer levels sporadically. I will post some screen shots.

Sound quality is amazing with very low noise floor in my opinion.

How does this issue present itself while watching a 4K blue-ray? I did notice some weird colors last night while watching the Hitmans Bodyguard but that was probably my projector or 4K Blu-ray player... my projector is not HDR capable and I rely on my Panasonic UB900 to convert to SDR.

You can control subwoofer(s) two different ways via the app.

The options gear in the bottom right hand corner of the main screen
Or
The Audio Tab under the left most tabs.

Audio has to be playing in the background for the subwoofer adjustments to dispay.

Aka you cant do it while the music/movie/video is stopped.

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I had a video problem with the AV8805. I have a JVC projector (550R) on monitor 1 out, and a small monitor (Acer 21" for setup) on monitor 2 out. I put a show in DVD format on the OPPO UDP-203. I had sound but no picture on the projector. When I turned on the monitor 21",I could have the picture on both screens. I turned off the monitor 21" and the problem came back on the projector (no signal). I repeated the experiment with a Blu-ray, same problem.then I put a UHD disc and this time, no problem. This morning I made some test and solved the problem. In the 4K signal format setup, I changed the option from "Enhanced" to "Standard" and the problem was gone. I will do some other test with the OPPO setup.

Looking like iOS 11.3 for the iPhone broke most functionality on the 2016 Marantz App.

Ahhh... thank you. That must be the issue that the movie or music has to be playing. I will test today and report back.

Looking forward to receiving my ordered 8805 in the near future. I sold my 8802a on March 20, and have been without atmos and dts-x for 11 days. Feels like 2 months.

I have been utilizing my former pre amplifier from the year 2000 in the meantime for 7.1 surround, but it is not quite the same without hdmi switching and GUI set up features

For sale: 4 Mackie c300z speakers, Sony HW40es projector, Tag Mclaren av32r preamplifier

It will be exciting, yes. The ability to do 9.2.4 or 7.2.6 will open up possibilities. Even so, it requires purchasing more speakers and another possible amplifier, while also once again opening up the floodgates for me about speaker choices and layout.

If the 8805 allows me to turn off audyssey in the subs, while allowing me to apply it to the speakers, that alone will be amazing. I suspect though that this will not really be the case, so I will once again have to shut off audyssey so my 20 hz and below bass is not effected by audyssey.

For sale: 4 Mackie c300z speakers, Sony HW40es projector, Tag Mclaren av32r preamplifier

I think I’ve read about people indicating that Audyssey “tames/reduces” low bass/subs, but never followed up in it. I’m considering the 8805, but I keep getting less than stellar reports of what Audyssey does to subs.

Any thoughts or comments?

Audyssey works best at frequencies below about 600-700 Hz. There is a huge thread on this and I agree... makes higher frequencies harsh in my opinion. It sounds great when limiting to 650.... but I am not satisfied with what it is doing to my subs.. I have 4 and I think I will use an Anti-Mode 2.0 Dual core (uses XLR instead of RCA) on one pair to see it that helps... or buy a mini sap Dirac unit. I also use an Xilica XP4080 before the signal goes to the subs for PEQ and curves.
