Is it normal after a firmware update it stays stuck on completed? I have to manually power down receiver to get it to respond again.

Why does my Onkyo RZ920 sometimes goes on a Fritz and and seems to lose the signal. Like if it's trying to switch resolution. It begins to flicker black screen than 4k.

Dunno. Did you try it with two or more inputs to the Onkyo to see if the flicker us caused by the source?

I don't have any flickering. I have an Xbox one S, HTOC, and I had a 4K Blu-ray player in the past that I no longer have today. Neither one cause tough flicker.

My feed either 1080p or 4K through the Onkyo.

I might be returning this thing if it is defective.

What receiver has similar specs to this 920? If I want to replace it with something else.

Well, there's a lot of specs to be compared. If you stick with Onkyo you can probably get the RZ830... That is pretty similar and I think it has nine amplifiers like the 920. It does not have digital lamps.

I saw something about the RZ-840. You might want to consider that one.

The list is pretty big. I suggest you check out the receiver thread. Onkyo might not be in your future. This Denon, marantz, Sony, etc

Does your TV support Dolby Vision? Not all do.

I was a previous subscriber to this thread about a year or so ago. I re-subscribed about a month ago when I was thinking about purchasing a TX-RZ920. I've gone through several Pioneer Elite and Marantz 9.2 receivers. A couple of weeks ago I found a nice 920.

I have found the 920's remote to be quite minimalistic. My question is for anyone who has or has used the Onkyo TX-RZ1100 (RC-926R) remote with the TX-RZ920. DO THEY WORK TOGETHER? It has been my experience, in the past, that Onkyo continues to use the same (Discreet) codes through several generations of receivers and the extra buttons will work (for Direct Access).

I am NOT interested in suggestions for aftermarket remotes.

Thanks, in advance; Jack

(EDIT) Sorry, but I didn't mean to quote someone.
