I’d have to find a tiny 4K monitor with full DV HDR capabilities which makes it unlikely I would try this.

There is no config option to just pump the OSD to a secondary display which would be pretty neat.

I have same usage as you, I am using EARC on the TV and so have no volume or OSD display.

While it may not have all the options you'd like, I use the Denon AVR app on a 9" Samsung tablet that I set next to my seating position. It's available for both iOS and Android.

TV Audio Input?

On my x4500h, I have the TV connected to the ARC HDMI, no fiber or coax for audio. When I play movies from the apps in the TV I cannot get audio. Ive tried selecting "TV Audio" on the remote but nothing. Can you guess at what Im doing wrong?

THanks!

1. On the TV you have ARC=ON?
2. On the AVR do you have ARC=ON?
3. Does the TV have an Audio setup wizard?

An HDMI splitter? Ideally, I guess one that can output 4K on one output and 1080p on the other?

HDMI control doesn't need to be on for the receiver to work with ARC. Only the receivers ARC setting. You're going to possibly have a lot of CEC(power on/off commands) related issues with HDMI control on in the receiver.

I do not judge a device by the number of sound modes, I personally think that those sound modes add nothing to the native audio and sometimes even mess with the original audio. To my ears, plain Stereo or Multi-Channel Stereo sounds way better and cleaner than any DSP modes or any Dolby or DTS upmixers. YMMV.

In setting <HDMI Control> to ON, the <ARC> setting was also set to ON as well which is what actually resulted in your success. As Madmax67 noted, you may not want <HDMI Control> to be enabled, so something to keep in mind.

perhaps, but otherwise I dont get audio from the Sony X900F TV to the receiver over HDMI. I found the solution for this issue to turn on the HDMI control on the Denon website. The only alternative is to use fiber for audio and select fiber as the input in the Denon. I use it for a what issues I have with it.

OK. I see now that I can turn off < HDMI control> and still have <ARC> on. I try that and see how it goes.

I didn't realize the apps provided so much info (like incoming and outgoing signals). I thought they were just remote controls! This is exactly what I wanted, thanks!

Question Denon AVR-X4500h - How to test all components

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone can share with common to Denon AVR-X4500h issues that I need to check first. I had a chance to obtain this receiver for a reasonable price but have a very limited time to check. Is any testing mode that allows to go through all components and verify its working condition. Please share with your thoughts. Thank you in advance!

I think if you just do a quick setup, you should be able to figure out if it works or not. Most failures aren't subtle. One that is the network card. Make sure the network is hooked up, as the network card can be bad, which would affect both wireless and wired, and I think the USB ports.
Try to check all the HDMI ports, that is probably the #1 failure point. Unplug everything when you switch the wiring, it's possible to damage the ports if you switch them live. I've never had that problem, but others have, so now I do it to make sure.
As far as I know, there isn't a "quick test", and I wouldn't trust it if there were, tbh.

There is a lot of useful information in the first several posts of this thread:
https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-re...sts-1-8-a.html

You may want to do a microprocessor reset before testing it, but check with the owner, as that will clear all the settings.
With the remote: SETUP - GENERAL - RESET - ALL SETTINGS
Madmax67 and dfa973 like this.

Make sure you run any extra wires you may need or think you may need. Maybe even some plastic conduit, this stuff is so cheap to run while the drywall is off

Question regarding the Subwoofer.

I have an old onkyo subwoofer that struggles hard at low frequencies. Which setting in x4500h would allow me to cut it off at my choice of frequency or crossover so that I can still good upper bass and cut it off at low levels.

Im also considering buying the SB2000 or PB1000 as a replacement but no idea which to get, i watch 100% movies. Thnx!

Im also considering buying the SB2000 or PB1000 as a replacement but no idea which to get, i watch 100% movies. Thnx!
There's not a high pass filter setting for a sub on the Denon so best just to lower the levels. This ported HSU gets high marks as the best value $600 sub on the market. Unless you're in a very small sealed space I'd go ported over sealed for movies.

Chane A5 towers,Chane A2.4 center,RBH bipole side surrounds, Rythmik LV12R x2,Denon X4300H, Outlaw 5000,Front B speakers: Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 books. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-rec...d-part-ii.html

Hi everyone! I've been looking to upgrade to an 11.2.4 receiver, and looking at this and the 6400, but leaning toward the 6500. Are there any regrets from any purchasers? Thanks!!

How to add remote turn on to amplifier

I just picked up an old Adcom Amplifier for a good price. What I didn't realize is that it doesn't have "signal sensing" for automatic turn on, nor does it even have a 12V trigger to turn it on automatically.

I'd like it to turn on when my AVR turns on, X4500H. Any ideas about the easiest way to turn the amplifier on automatically?

I saw this thread: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-re...power-amp.html

This was the suggestion from JDSmoothie: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P1QJXQ/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

Any newer or better ideas, or is that still the best solution.
