Choosing between 2 receivers, help!

Hi all,

My needs are fairly modest: 4k pass through, 7 channels, atmos, 4-6 hdmi inputs.

My setup for the near future will remain 5.1, but in a couple years I may look at changing things to take advantage of atmos.

I'm using a Definitive Technology 600 speaker set.

Bestbuy (Canada) has these two models on sale:

Denon AVR-S730H - $399 CDN

Onkyo TX-NR575 - $449 CDN

Which would you folks recommend? And is there any other similarly priced receiver that I should be considering?

Thanks in advance!!

I'd recommend you get both and try them in your setup to see which one serves you best. They will have different sound signatures and features.

Go Eagles! Go Sixers! Go Phillies! Go Flyers!

Between those two, I would choose Denon as I prefer Audyssey to AccuEQ, but would take a Sony 1080 over both. Only way to know for sure is to try them.

Projector: LG PF1500W; Receiver: Sony STR-DN1080; Speakers: Monitor Audio Controlled Performance Inwalls and Inceilings; Subwoofer(s): SVS PC-2000; Bluray Player: Sony BDP-S6500; Remote: Roomie Remote; Cables: Monoprice
