Second time in less then a year that lightning has damaged electronic here.
This time I were stupid, and didnt check the receiver and TV when thunder started. The TV were in standby (12 year old Panasonic plasma), and the receiver were on. I heard a sound from the TV like if it were turned on or off. I ran in turned the TV off from standby (with the physical button), and turned off the receiver. After the storm, when I checked it, I got no signal picture on the TV, but the OSD works on the TV.
I have done hours of testing, and it looks like this is the situation:
TV is broken (can it maybe only be the HDMI part?), not able to get a signal picture any more, looks like no sound either. The receiver looks to have a broken HDMI outport, the one that was connected to the TV (HDMI out 1). The other one, HDMI out 2, I am able to get a picture from when connecting a monitor. Is it really possible to this has just destroyed one HDMI out port and not both. or more stuff? Or can it be another reason for not getting a picture on HDMI out 1 on my monitor (HDMI 1 is the one with ARC)? I have tested with HDMI out 1 and 2, and made sure they are both on/active.
Would be super with a fast reply here, need to contact insurance/service tomorrow my time (Norway).
If its so expensive to fix this, lets say half the price of the reciver; which model is newer and better then the 685 right now (2020 model)? I know 685 is missing some HDMI standard if I do not remember wrong.
