The proof is in the pudding. Either you can utilize it or you can’t. Either you like the way it sounds as a result or you don’t. $300-$400 is chump change in the world of high performance audio. Let’s not jump to any conclusions yet.

Why would anyone want to individually control target curves for different subs in the same room/ system? The goal is to reduce localization, not amplify it. Trust me when I say Dirac engineers are smarter than most hobbyists on this site. They know what they’re doing and their goal is better sound through improved bass frequency response, impulse response and phase/ timing. The software does all the hard work, thus making it as easy and consumer friendly as possible to achieve excellent results.
DS-21 and sveineb like this.

I just wish it was easier to find info and details for a product that was announced 2 years ago and slated for release Q2 2019.

Maybe now that it has released we can get answers rather than speculation.

Subs are like pizzas: you get way more good stuff with the big ones.

Anybody with different types of subs will want this. Your sealed subs will be better with boost at 10hz, your ported subs will not.

I don't think anybody here doubts the abilities of the Dirac engineers. However, it would appear that the best results can only be achieved by the software alone if you are using multiple identical subs.

You keep thinking discretely, that any particular sub will work better with this setting or that setting. Room correction is doesn’t work like that. It isn’t about optimizing each individual subwoofer in your system individually so that it performs its very best in isolation. Rather, it’s looking at the totality of the bass in the room near your listening position and adjusting each individual sub so that you get something that sounds good in total. The fact that it can handle your janky setup with different size drivers, enclosures, amps, etc. is a testament to how great it is.

No room is perfect, just as no speaker is perfect. When adding multiples of anything it’s probably best to have them all matching as best as possible. You wouldn’t use a floor standing PSB for your L speaker, a bookshelf Klipsch for your R speaker and a Polk soundbar for your center speaker and then blame the DSP for not making it sound as good as 3 identical PSB positioned properly, would you?
