Yamaha RXV465 is there a loudness button?

Yamaha RXV465 is there a loudness button?
couple weeks ago I was messing around w/ some of the configurations, I don’t remember seeing or turning off the loundness however
seams like the loudness is turned off, I now have to seriously turn up the volume to achieve the same volume levels as before me messing around.

when I select menu I have

speaker setup
sound setup
function setup
DSP parameter
memeory guard

I've clicked on every sub category w/in each of pages didn't see a loudness feature or maybe Yamaha refers to loudness as something else.
Thanks for any advice.

...anything marked with the words “Dynamic Range” in your menu?

You want max dynamic range turned on.
Some receivers have a “Late Night” setting that will limit some of the loud passages.

...anything marked “enhancement...enhance?

If I had a loudness button, I would never use it!
Maybe when listening at very low volume.

Sounds like you need to do a reset to defaults under Advanced Settings[1] (in most models). You messed with something that you can’t revert, so a reset is probably best. Then you’ll have to run YPAO and any other personalizations you effected.

This is tough to say, but you need to reset, start from the beginning, and go slowly through the setup menu as you grasp everything.
Sometimes I can go for weeks and months without a glitch...riding along with all sails up, “I know everything I need to know about this receiver” LOL...then one day I make a simple change in the menu and, all Hell breaks loose...LOL.
Watch out for “THE DOMINO EFFECT”.
Like suddenly realizing that you are lost in the woods because you made too many wrong turns, and you can’t find your way out.
It’s an awful experience. Hehe

I think after calibration, zero DB reading on the receiver should equal about 85 DB in the room. (Did I say that right?)
Redo your room correction.

The RX-V465 manual reminded me how old this unit it, the OM reminds me of my RX-V663 version.

There aren't too many "tone" or "tweak" options.[1] I recall some older units had a two-step mute option (-20dB or 100%), but I don't find that. You could've disabled a speaker or two. But doing a "init" reset and running YPAO again and turning off all tone, DSP, Dynamic Range Control options should restore normal sound, or identify a new problem with this old AVR. :}

[1]Off the top of my head:
  • PEQ adjustments
  • Tone Control
  • Cinema DSP
  • Bass cross over or extra bass
  • Compressed music Enhancer?
