Question Receiver Recommendations / Future Proofing

I recently purchased a new Marantz SR6013 for $1100 alongside a B&W 5.0 system I do enjoy the sound, however I am not sure if I can get a much better receiver for under $2000.

My current setup is:
  • Receiver: Marantz SR6013
  • Fronts: Bowers & Wilkins 603 (x2)
  • Center: Bowers & Wilkins HTM6a
  • Surrounds: Bowers & Wilkins 606 (x2)

My usage will probably be 30% Music 70% Home Theater ( Movies / Games ).

My future plan is to add at least two additional ceiling speakers and a ~$1000 subwoofer for a 5.1.2 setup.

Will the SR6013 be enough to drive all this at a reasonable level for a Home Theater, and at worst I supplement with an amplifier, or should I look into getting a more powerful receiver to future-proof my setup? Recommendations?

Nope that receiver is plenty. Take some of the load off by getting some budget amps or an old avr you have laying around to run the atmos or surround channels?

If you have the skills and tools then I would be build 2 vbss subs for under $1k and call it a day. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/155-d...gn-thread.html

Good luck!

Adding a good sub or two will take most of the load off. IMO you won't need any external amplification.
