I wonder if the 'new upper market AV offering' that they spoke of, is this T789, or another device? Because they wrote 'however'.

What deadline (or estimated timeline) have they missed with this? I have seen no official acknowledgement of its very existence or development, just the photos shown here in the same way we see "spy" photos of possible upcoming motorcycles and cars. Many of those test mules never see production at all.

No disappointment here, because there is no expectation.

Well, according to Dutch and German audio websites, whose contributors were present at the Amsterdam show (from where those pictures are from), the NAD representatives at the show claimed the AVR would be presented in Q2 2019. Maybe deadline wasn't the best translation.

If you plan on seeing it come to market in the 13th month of never, you'll be pleasantly surprised when it shows up sometime late next year. If ever.

This appears to be a replacement for the T777v3, as it's the same power ratings and 9 powered channels. I'd have to go back and find the link to photos of the prototype T789, but I think that one was similar power to the now-extant T787 that never got the 4k video, Dolby Atmos, or Dirac upgrades.

That's a bummer. I was hoping to pick one of these up on release to replace my T777v3.

Can you clarify where you heard this?

I queried the site, and they got back to me saying it will be available January 2020.

I asked my local distributor for a price on the 778, and this was their feedback:

"Note: They are awaiting Apple Airplay2 certification before the units will be released. Not sure when the first units will be released yet."

feedback from a big local retailer:

Quote:
NAD is still waiting on certification from Apple for wireless protocol. Should release later this month and then 10 days to get into South Africa.
