Audyssey vs Acueq Advanced

I just recently switched from a denon with x32 to the onkyo rz830. The results from accueq are rather crappy for me. Sound and vision said it did a decent job on the low frequencies in there room on the review of the 787. I had the 787 before the 830 and same results. Alot of the user reviews say accueq advanced is much better than the regular onkyo calibration, But it doesn't do a dang thing positive in my room. I changed mic placement a few times and did multiple runs of the accueq and got pretty much the same. Just wondering if other people are getting better results. First pic is audyssey with denon with the subs exactly set up the same as the onkyo. The second is accueq on, which is purple and no eq at all which is green

Sounds better with audyssey. The accueq sounds kinda bloated, quite a bit of overhang on notes. Exactly like it does with no eq, just a couple db's lower. Lol. So, not that great.

Had some company today so couldn't play with the stereo. Can pull it up tomorrow. But I don't really know how to correctly interpret the waterfall graphs

Has AccuEQ gotten closer to Audyssey?

From what I'm reading when it was first introduced, AccuEQ was lacking the EQ portion like Audyssey has and generally just did not work correctly.

Has it improved over the last couple years at all? I'm currently trying to choose between a Denon AVR with Audyssey and the Onkyo TX-RZ620.
Hopefully someone can inform me!

Denon AVR-X2400H - B&W LCR 60 S3 Center - B&W DM 602 S3 Fronts - Klipsch R15m Atmos Highs - TSC TSS Surrounds - B&W ASW600 S3 Subwoofer - Paradigm Monitor 9 v5 Fronts - Paradigm CC-290 v5 Center

It’s not as good as Audyssey but it’s not bad either. If you use AccuEq as a baseline and then tweak it yourself you should be fine. I switched from a Denon x1200w to an Onkyo Tx-Nr676

AccuEQ has undergone some subtle upgrades...
This software was actually provided by TI as it is royalty-free, as overall AVR market pricing has gotten very competitive...

Just my $0.02...
