Anyone has news, speculation on 3600H and Denon site removing the link?

They do still have this page for the 3600, though there isn't much there:
https://usa.denon.com/us/product/hom...eivers/avr3600

I'd guess they found some flaw at the last second and decided to yank it from the site immediately rather than issue a recall later. If so, hopefully it is something they can fix with firmware.

Or, maybe an issue with production (the plant caught on fire, etc), or the shipping truck got in an accident.

You'll note at the top of my post you quoted, that I indicate the X3600H links are not yet active. In the past, in some cases, a model's webpage hasn't been posted until several weeks after it's been released, the X3600H not expected to be released until July 15.

The 3600 you linked to is not the X3600H but rather another model that was released 15 years ago.

Ah, ok thanks, Looking forward to comparing it with the 4500, look like it also processes 11 ch (w/2ch external amplification).

@dfa973 Do you still get IMAX Enhanced with the X3600H or is that one also only on higher end models starting with the X4500H?

Yes, you get IMAX Enhanced, as this program/certification is available for a minimum of 5.2.4 setup, which X3600H can do just fine (since is a "baby" X4500H).

Attached two snapshots of that page still in Google cache, for reference.

Later edit = please note that the Amazon page stated dimensions are not right, those are dimensions of the X2600H, the X3600H has the dimensions of X4500H.

Polk Speakers/Denon Receiver Help
Howdy,

For my birthday, I just received 2 Polk Monitor 70 Series II speakers and a Denon ARV-S950H. This is my first receiver and speakers of this kind (been using a Vizio Soundbar for the past few years). For the past 2 days, I have tried and tried to get the speakers to work but can't get any sound out of them. I have my PS4 hooked up to the receiver. Video-wise, the PS4 runs through the receiver and is showing up fine on my Samsung TV, but I couldn't get any sound out the speakers (HDMI Arc in the receiver to the HDMI Arc in the Samsung). I did some research and found that the ARC on some Samsungs are "iffy" at best so I connected the TV to the Denon with an digital optical cable (that I know works because it was originally connected to my soundbar/Samsung). Still no sound...
I wanted to update everybody on this post. After trying things that were recommended by everyone on this forum, the speakers never did work. I decided to return the Denon to Best Buy. They didn't have another one in stock and none of the other receivers really appealed to me so I ordered the Marantz NR1609 off Amazon. Got it in the mail, hooked it up the same as I did the Denon, and immediately the speakers started working during the initial setup tests! Everything sounds good - PS4, Dish Network, Fire TV - everything's working and sounding as it should be. So... all that rigmarole and spending money for banana plugs and extra speaker wire and it ended up that I just got a lemon receiver. The (not so) funny thing is, the reason I bought the receiver from Best Buy instead of getting it shipped to me was that I was worried it would get beat up during shipping too much and not work. So the irony, the one I picked up from the store was DOA, while the one that came through the mail works great. Anyway, figured I'd update everyone that tried to help me with this issue. Thanks for taking the time.

The Amazon Denon AVR-X3600H page is back!
Nothing has changed, not even the wrong dimensions...
Or the fact that X1600H and X2600H models do not have Audyssey MultEQ XT32...

I'll be hanging out until the 2020 release, and i'll look at the 3700 or 4700 version.

While i was hoping for some HDR10+ support for my existing 82 inch Samsung next year, it'll be interesting to see if they offer it, as i though it might have been in the 3600 version, so i'm not sure if it they do decide to offer it.

Still, with the PS5 likely to be out next year, i might make the move and get a better Bigger TV with Dolby Vision with better blacks.

X2600h vs x3600h

Dear all,
I am in doubt about buying the x2600h or the x3600h. For me, the key advantages of the x3600h over the x2600 for me would be the slightly higher power and sound quality and the Audyssey MultEQ XT32. But is the price difference worth it?

I know this is a highly subjective manner, but still would highly appreciate your opinion.

I will connect a Dali Zensor set (Zensor vocal, 2x Zensor 5, 4x Zensor pico incl 2 height, and E-12 F or K-14F subwoofer). I do have an old Denon PMA 1500AE to drive the stereo fronts through the pre-amps; I assume that would still be an improvement, but will need to verify that.

Considering this speaker set, do you expect the higher power (primarily driving the zensor vocal and pico's if I hook up the PMA) and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 of the X3600h to result in a significant higher audio quality than the x2600h?

Thanks! J

The difference in power is negligible:

AVR-X2600H 7.1 (5.1.2) approx. 7 x 60W
AVR-X3600H 9.2 (5/7.2.4) approx 9 x 70W

The difference in the quality of room correction is not negligible!

Going with the AVR-X3600H will also allow you to go from your current 5.2.2 setup to a 5.2.4 setup - thus enhancing the Atmos experience.

afaik ALG is delivered via fw updates for 4500 and other 2018/2019 AVRs.

what i'm most interested in is 3600 vs. 4500 because i was *SHOCKED* to see the 11.2 preamp out.

this is a nice $1k or less PROCESSOR for atmos!

only thing i can think of is what am i missing vs. doing to 4500 or the eventual 4600?

i dont care about imax enhanced of course but ALG can be important for when gaming on larger displays/projectors.

also the HDMI revisions are listing it as HDMI 2.3?

is that accurate? or was that HDCP? i can't remember.

I've seen comparos from 3600 to the 2600 and 4600 but not too much about 3500 vs 3600. I'm not seeing it as a big upgrade especially with major changes to HDMI coming in 2020. Thoughts?

The 3500 vs 3600 is a very big upgrade in terms of channel count... the 3500 is 7ch only, whereas the 3600 has 9 amps and can run a full 7.1.4 setup with external amps.

Otherwise the changes are just the minor details (e.g. HDCP 2.3) noted at the beginning of this thread.

i know some people use these as preamps and if you want to truly experience the atmos/dts-x correctly having 4 overheads is a must, so for denons that used to be the 4500... but now 3600 is offering it!

amazing price points!

that's why there are comparisons between 3600 v 4500 in that respect.

the only other features is apps or how 'smart' you want your AVR to be. which 4500 and i assume 4600 will still retain. i dunno if the comparisons are correct, but 4600 can play 24/192 flac files... whilst according to denon's comparison site... the 3600 cant?

so still have to weigh those things i guess. i'm a long ways off from upgrading.

Otherwise the changes are just the minor details (e.g. HDCP 2.3) noted at the beginning of this thread.

wow that far back eh? where'd you get that spreadsheet? dealer intel?

beyond atmos+allm i haven't really read up on many other things. what's the deal with upmixing for newer model vs. older models? what's changed?

as i understand it after atmos came along everything is now "dolby surround" including all upmixes into height channels right?
