Question Receiver purchase advice

Got tired of dealing with 4k HDR routing issues from an

Apple TV -> Marantz 7012 -> JVC RS420

Cables seemed to be fine (4K60 HDR from Apple to JVC through the 50ft was perfect), but could only muster 4K60 non-HDR through Marantz. The Marantz is going back, thinking about just getting the same model but from a reputable dealer as in theory it should have worked? (all firmware updated, trolled through ~20 pages of forums across the internet, both receiver and projector manuals with most combinations of settings). Though was wondering if there were any recommendations for a 5.1.2 setup (B&W 702s2 LR, HTM71S2 Center, Klipsch/Elac top-middle ceilings/side surrounds, HSU VTF-15H). Leaning towards Marantz as it seemed to subjectively have a warmer sound than the Denon I've tried (4400H). Budget is probably somewhere around 1-3k, any pointers / recommendations would be appreciated!

Preferred Requirement(s):
- Known compatibility with Apple 4k HDR -> JVC RSx20/RSx40 HDR

More than likely a cable related issue as the signal is weakened when passing through an HDMI repeater (ie. AVR) and 50' is an extreme distance for 4k. Consider using a fiber optic HDMI cable.

I thought it was the cable as well (50' Monoprice Luxe CL3), but I brought the receiver over to the projector and used a separate high-speed Amazon cable to connect it within 6ft and still can't seem to pass 4k HDR (SDR only).

I also just tested with a newer SR6013 and still have the issue. Thanks for the pointer to the cable, I'll give it a shot to see if I can rule out more variables. The issues seem very similar to ones discussed over here: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin...read.cgi?40075

If you can test with a 6' 4k "Premium" certified HDMI cable, that would be best.

This ended up solving the problem. Thanks JD!

I'm disappointed that a Monoprice branded HDMI cable failed to work w/4k60p w/HDR. I didn't realized adding HDR pushed the bandwidth limits that much more to make the cable fail beyond 4k60p w/SDR
