Has anyone else noticed that when you upload the ARC (Genesis) calibration to the AVM-60 (Windows 64Bit) the speed in which it uploads varies. So I have noticed that after I make a small adjustment and upload, it goes very quickly within a minute but if I upload the same file without making any further changes so same file straight away it can take up to 10-12mins. This is done using a laptop sitting right next to the Anthem using wireless and each time it rushes the upload the system doesn't sound as dynamic but when it takes awhile the system sounds fantastic. It's been happening for awhile now and it's something I've noticed since the new software came out and not sure if it's a Windows thing or a software bug.

That's what I don't understand. I don't think it does anything different as both the "angle" and regular shortcuts seem to be identical and point to the same EXE file and aren't passing any command line options.

Is there an archive where I can download ver 9006?

I read SinonNo10's post. My upload from my laptop (via WiFi) to the amp (Ethernet) took about 10 seconds. Is that typical?

As a preface, I am a big fan of Anthem products and have owned many versions of their equipment. They are among the best you can purchase for a somewhat reasonable price. I've also had a few Bell's Hopslams this evening and the filter is down. Having said that, I think it's absurd that we're six months past the 9105 release and there have not been revisions that address all of the bugs that have been documented on this board. It amazes me that we're still recommending a legacy version of Genesis as the best solution. Where is the Anthem presence on this thread like in the past? Are there fundamental issues or reasons that Genesis seems to have come to a halt? Does Anthem really believe 9105 is stable and bug free? Just venting a bit here, but would really like to know where Anthem stands on ARC Genesis which is supposed to be a serious competitor to Dirac and other sophisticated room correction solutions. Most of us have worked around the flaws to get decent solutions that sound good, but all of the features do not work optimally at this point.

@Bittermidget - I agree that the lack of response by Anthem is frustrating. It seems there is nothing that can be done by the users to improve this situation. Perhaps if all users contacted their dealers with complaints, there might be action? but I doubt many users would bother.

One would expect a founder and new-again owner to "tweak and improve" rather than neglect.

At least Anthem supports a competent technical support line manned by English-first language tech's who know the products and sincerely try to assist.

I've owned six different Anthem products since 2003 and all have served me well.

But I sure miss Nick Platsis, who left Anthem in 2017.

Anthem's customer support has not been the same since Nick departed. Methinks Scott Bagby ought to try to hire Nick back. Nick always kept his eye on the legendarily looong AVS thread "Anthem D2/D2v/AVM50/AVM50v/ARC1 tweaking guide". Nick kept up with that thread and would contribute to it frequently.

It does boggle the mind that Anthem has not updated its ARC Genesis software for such a long time. Having myself been through every iteration of ARC, ARC-2 and now Genesis with first a D2, a D2V (< still in my rack) and an AVM-60 going on 3 years, ARC has come a very long way. But to not address its deficiencies so thoroughly referenced in this thread, seems a missed opportunity to advance/burnish Anthem's reputation.

Anthem removes the previous version from their site when they release a new version. I always keep copies of the versions up on my google drive just in case a new version is buggy and I want to roll back.

Here's a link to 9006. Click the download (down arrow) in the upper right corner. Then wait about 20 seconds for the download dialog or blue download button.

That's a comfortable increase without offsetting your dynamics and clarity. Some increase it by 6 dB (which would be 8.75 for you), and it just makes a mess of everything outside of an explosion. Male voices get wonky, and too much material has this low boomy hum underneath it.

What you did is more about preference than anything. Shouldn't affect the balance negatively.

Well said, Chris. Nick was a wealth of information and a straight shooter. He taught me a lot when I first started using ARC with a D2 years ago.

Was not aware of the Anthem sale, so thanks for that info.

What will I audibly notice if I change my frequency range to 10khz or 20khz? I like the way that ARC sounds but I see this “peak” at 10khz and wondered what I’m missing/gaining? This was ran with the default 5khz.

Looks like you're getting a 10dB increase at 10kHz. That will make anything that is at that frequency 10dB louder than everything else and since 10kHz is a high frequency it will sound bright. I have the same probelm with my heights at the same frequency. You can leave every other speaker where they are and just correct the heights up to 10kHz instead of the default 5kHz.

Thank you for the response. Makes sense. So I need to re run ARC at 10khz for the heights, upload to the anthem and done? Sorry. New to understanding ARC

You don’t need to remeasure, just adjust your existing arc file, or create a new set of profiles using the existing measurements, and make the appropriate changes to your height channel settings, and then upload the new profiles to the Anthem.

Does anyone have the problem where ARC adjust the levels wrong. When I check the levels using the pink noise I get 65 db in my speakers and 75 db on my subwoofers. If i open up my calibration file it shows all speakers around 75db.

Question about letting arc not eq my subs.. I set it so min eq freq. was 250hz so it would touch it but is arc adjusting the level? In my rew graph the dark red is what genesis recommended.. dark green is a profile I made with a bit of boost.. pink is where I set min eq freq to 250hz but if you compare it to the blue line which is with arc off, arc is still lowering it down big time. So if arc isn’t doing an eq on the subs what is it actually doing to change the way it looks on the graph? The lime green line is my own eq from rew to minidsp.

Very similar issues for me. Started when I was unable to calibrate my 1120 successfully with ARC Genesis in the first place. Got very wacky levels in my calibration file...some around 16-17db. Worked with Anthem support, and determined that I was unable to use Genesis - could not calibrate my speakers at a 7db reference. Ended up using ARC2, where it calibrated me at 65db. Even after applying this calibration, pink noise tests show some speakers in the mid 60s and some speakers in the low 70s. My sub was registering the lowest of all my speakers.

Anthem claims that speaker sensitivity and room dynamics would explain this. I don't think I am running anything that unusual - Sonus Faber Venere 2.5 fronts and center, Dynaudio walls and ceilings, and an SVS PB-3000 sub. All in a dedicated home theater room...carpeted, acoustic tile ceiling, shiplap wood walls.

Sounds is pretty nice right now, but I wonder if I am leaving anything on the table with my calibration potential...

Version 1.2.2
- Fixed an issue where the 2nd/3rd/4th profile of multi-profile devices could end up with the wrong measured level
- Fixed discovery and/or connection with many USB subwoofers (a few combinations of products still have problems)
- Fixed upload failures with BalancedForce 210/212 on 32 bit windows
- Fixed the issue where bass boost center frequency, room gain center frequency and tilt start frequency were not reset to recommended values when auto detecting all target settings
- Fixed issue where the wrong value was being used for high frequency tilt start
- Changed SCM, app now follows major.minor.build – gitsha. Download files still must follow major.minor.build.rev but rev is now 0. so 1.2.2 == 1.2.2.0
- Fixed quick measure doesn’t work on STR when processing = enabled
- Other minor bug fixes and improvements
Known Issues: Some loading screens still experience problems when 'canceling'.

Guys remember Anthem recommends re-running Genesis when a new release comes out instead of just uploading a previous ARC3/Genesis file into the new version. Looks like they fixed the bass boost and high frequency tilt issues.

I asked Anthem that same question last year and their response was to re-measure with the mic when you upgrade to a new version of Genesis.

Are you happy with this update or should we wait a bit longer ..?

I haven't had a chance to load it yet. I really like how things sound with 1.1.1.9006 so I plan on loading 1.2.2.0 later tonight and see how it sounds.

I hope to download mine this weekend when I’m not working.

Any of you guys having a problem installing on iOS MacBook using the ARC app? Says anthem not verified software. Is 1.9105 the correct update?

I also really like 006... I stuck with ARC2 because I didn't like the way Genesis made my system sound until you gave me 006.
Now with 006 and the addition of the miniDSP 2x4HD I'm in complete love with my setup now...

Please let me know what you think of the new update when you get a chance to check it out...

I'd really appreciate it.
