Decisions.. Decisions

Hello everyone, I've been researching and reading up on the minidsp 2x4 hd and the ddrc-24 version. I'm leaning towards the latter version because DL seems to be exceptional at what it does. I'm just wondering if it'll play nice with my sr8012 as far my avr sending the signal to it for my subs when audessey is engaged.I'm using a external amplifier to power dual mini marty's. Any advice, experiences, pros and cons are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your response.

Do your sub amps have dsp built in? Your 8012 has xt32 and should do a pretty damn good job eqing your sub(s).

I do not own one, but from what I understand it goes between the avr and sub and will not affect your sr8012 in any way?

Someone with more experience will need to chime in?

Good luck!

I have a crown amplifier, but no built in dsp. that's my understanding as well.

The 2X4HD goes between your AVR sub outs and the amp used for powering the subs. So yes, it will work just fine and it will not affect the AVR. I have the MiniDSP 2x4HD and it does a great job of leveling out the FR with the subs. XT32 is great for setting delay / distance but is limited with correcting for room anomalies.

thanks for your response.i ordered the 2x4hd this morning and it'll arrive Sunday.i have so much reading to do on REW to learn how to use it 😳. But in the never-ending quest for great sound, the rabbit hole gets deeper 😂.
